Recently, did a little research.

GSR has stock sprockets of 17 front & 48 rear.

That is a very big rear sprock. Meaning for a 400, you will lose significant top end in return to getting immense pickup.

I'm thinking of lowering my rear sprock size.

Since the GSR engine was tuned for high acceleration (hollow speedcams, EFI mapping, etc), a rear smaller sprock would be compensated for. Meaning we would still get pretty high pickup (although slightly lower than stock) but significant increase in top-end.

For the 400s, you may want to match up with the S4 VTECIII size 45 rear sprock. That would match up nicely. Better acceleration than S4 (according to the GSR400 vs S4 SpecIII Bol'Dor shootout) with increased top-end to match or better.

For my 600, I'm thinking of going all crazy and doing a size 38 rear like the stock size for my old TL1000R.

But the problems of coz comes in terms of accurate speedo readings. Changes in the sprocket sizes will affect the speed. But to my understanding, the speedo sensor is measuring elsewhere (crankshaft area, I heard) where such changes will not be factored in correctly, thus inaccuracy in speedo readings by as much as +/- 10km/h.

2 solutions. Either get a SpeedoHealer box or fix a second bicycle-type speedo computer which measures speed based on the spinning front wheel.

I'll 1-up on that.

Introducing the SW-Motech Quik-Lock Pannier system.

After the mounting points...

The setup...

Note that the racks can be removed in seconds and the mounting points preserve the stock streetfighter looks.

Hey guys.. found a pair of mirrors which I think will fit the GSR well. Hope it will not vibrate like the originals. Any comments?

think its the GSR's heavy vibrations. sometimes, i think i'm on a inline-4 Harley.
