Hi there,

To all potential buyers of the new SPARK 135, please read on:

Maybe A little on myself first:

I’m in my mid 30s, holding license of all classes.

Ever own bikes ranging from 80cc to 1200cc over the last 15 years that I’ve ridden.

Recently, I begin to take interest in the cubs so i actually look into this tread and read from page 1 onwards.

Gathering the info I got from the postings, I began my quest to look for the cheapest deal.

Finally, I must have wasted many of my time and car petrol $$ to realized the info in the posting are out-dated.

I’m not saying that it’s not true but it’s just OUTDATED.

I must have gone to 12 different shops to get price and gather info from Spark owners I’ve seen on the road.

Therefore, I wish to post this INFO on line so that potential buyer like myself will not go throu what I went through again.

(Please do not go around asking for a $3500 new Yamaha spark 135 !!, they will just laugh.)

UPDATES on the prices and the differences of new SPARKS 135 (As on 19 May 2006)

Agent (HONG LEONG) SPARK 135

Bike appearance similar to imports. Both clutch and auto available

However, they have a HONG LEONG sticker at the steering section

Bike warranty 1 year. Any problem can claim back even if engine exploded.

Price for RR and RX model same.

Original Yamaha Owner manual / instructions tat comes with bike in ENGLISH.

Price is around $4500-$4800 on the road

Price includes IU, LTA Transfer, COE and insurance for 35 years old (2nd party)

Parallel imports SPARK 135

Bike appearance similar to agents. Both clutch and auto available.

However, they have a Thailand wording stickers at the steering section

User manual in Thai. Warning labels on bike also in Thai

Bike NO warranty from YAMAHA. Your bike shop will be responsible for 3 months.

If something wrong with the engine then good luck to you.

Price is around $4200-$4500 on the road

Price includes IU, LTA Transfer, COE and insurance for 35 years old (2nd party)

Price is a big difference compared to the earlier pioneers Spark 135 due to several factors:

- COE price increase from $400+ to $800+

- Later batch all come with Sports rim whether you like it or not.

- Some earlier 135s are parallel import model. Cheaper but not Yamaha dealer supported.

- Bike shop can sell you even cheaper price if you have a bike to trade in.

- I recommend buying the agent's machine cause For extra $500, it will give you a piece of mind and resale value are a little higher.

HOPE THIS INFO WILL HELP SOME BROTHERS LIKE MYSELF :thumb:

No offence to anyone here. HAPPY SHOPPING!

there Eeleenz..read on~

D IU units are designed to be mounted in a certain angle in order for d sensor in d gantries to capture so if u were to place ur IU upright in ur basket or wherever, u mite as well remove it..~ juz ma 2centz! Anyway im still thinkin of ways to relocate d IU cos it looks unsightly at d norm. position...

FC --> abt 48-50km/Litre

Popping --> play arnd wif ur sprox ratios.

Torque --> Aftermarket CDIs

Hey wan23, why not you share what you have done to your bike with us.. U seem very pro.. :thumb:

me no pro lar bro.instead i need to learn more from u guyz cause i also new to the bike.Actually i not really prepare for the kallang race cause i juz got the bike for ard 2 wks then the race day already..What have i done to the bike????

I change to pop domino racing footrest like most of the guyz using. Then i use racing boy sports rims cause the width is longer than the rest so as to more stability on corners. For the tyre,i juz cant get a gd tyre as too rushing so i settle down with dunlop 90/80. Very suprise with the racing boy oversize brake disc as it seems to have alot of effect on the braking power..for the pipe,im using pop domino but i dont feel that it is good so im gg to change a hand built pipe by the malaysian guyz on the nx race..i also dont know what crab n what setting my mechanic put but i juz feel the is juz not enougt. So changing to another carb soon. For the spocket is 46/15 but is still not big enought. So i need to source at lease 50 or 52t.. At the end of the day is juz up to the rider to perform.. Every ppl got different wayz of modify their bikes so theres no right or wrong wayz.. If theres anything u guyz know do post it up so we can learn from each other k... C ya..:cheer:

Hey bro, they don't have smaller front spockets than 15T? Go smaller at the front lor.. If got 13T, a 46/13 equivelent of you changing to 52/15.

Your rear racing boy rim how wide?

And lastly, how good or bad is your present T135 compared to the 125Z you used to ride? What are the pros and cons of each? Cheers!

yes, they do have smaller front spocket but at that time when i change my spocket they dont have it at their shop..Since its too rushing i juz c wat the bike can do with the spocket i have..

for the rims im not sure how wide but will update soon..Its juz the white colour racing boy rims that u can get at jb.i think with 5 or 6 spoke that suit our bike nicely.

125z got their own gd also..I use to ride it with heavily modify..It can really clear meter like nobody buisness..i put in racing blok n piston n set it for long distance..but after gg at 180 the bike seems to b very light n floating..It is very dangerious to play on the rd actually..The reason y i sold it off is because that everytime need to top up petrol..My full tank can only last me ard 70k.

For my spark is more fuel saving "for the time being" n theres no need 2t.So the risk of piston jam is not so great. so far i done it for the pick up n not long distance.nothing much to say bout the bike juz yet..but im sure im gonna stick with the bike for a long time..:cheeky:
