no car in singapore is for the poor to drive. u no salary of 2.5k above dun bother even getting a van its not the car thats expensive... its the parking and fuel...

Generally, $2.5k should only be able to get you a OPC car.

As a general rule of thumb, the monthly instalment of your car should not exceed 20% of your takehome salary.

well said Lmodel.

A better rule would be that the monthly instalmt of the car should not exceed 10% of takehome salary and should not exceed 5 yrs.

At my workplace, ppl who own cars all waitied for big variable bonus to pay off their expensive car insurance and road tax.. I don't want to be like one of them..:p

Hi...what is the meaning of car sharing scheme?

Hi all, which is the most affordable car to own in terms of FC and comfort, and good enough for daily transport.

suggestion anyone?

Go for Jap brand...best bet will be toyota. It's hard to get the three in one that you wish for. Test drive and decide.

what are the toyota's left on the road 1st hand with manual gear? seems to me many are auto already :giddy:

Its true, auto-trans car are getting more popular in Singapore with traffic and such. However most Distributor still brings in manual gear car upon buyer request. For toyota's you may have to visit their showroom and check on their availlibility.

ps: on personal note, the sales repr. in toyota's showroom have left me with a bad experience. Hope yours a good one. :goodluck:

sorry bro, what i'm trying to say is that. The vehicle they sell sometimes come with option Manual or Auto. Manual normally cost lesser then auto. What are the Model's? That i not sure. But if you are really keen. SMS me lor, i got old friends there's. Few are Service Asst Manager. Can check for you No problem :p

The additional charge normally comes if you only request specific vehicle. And for that better go to PI cost much lesser.

Well, toyota is a good choice but personal preference as in i like honda jazz more. More fuel economy and lower road tax due to 1.3L and weighs. Please honda also got more resale value but toyota vios also not so bad either.

resale value  . The only resale value in singapore now is paper value. If and If you are lucky enough to get the vehicle exported to 3 world country you probably get another body value about 5k. :p
