Anyone knows where to get the DVD for Korean show 'Shiri'?

Couldn't find it anywhere.

Thanks!

I have the VCD version of this movie. Bought it for $5 at Cash Converters a few years back. Only problem is that the VCD seems to be MIA and I have not even watched the movie yet... :slapforehead: :cheeky:

When I was a kid in the 80's, 'Transformers' happened to be one of my favourite cartons. Eversince news of a movie adaptation of the popular cartoon series got out, I've been waiting with bated anticipation. I'm glad to say that I am not at all disappointed with the movie version.

In a nutshell, the movie is about alien robots with the abilities to transform into vehicles and flying machines, wanting to take over Earth. For those of you who watched the cartoon series, you would already know that the alien robots are divided into two groups : the good 'guys' - the Autobots and the bad 'guys' - the Decepticons.

In order to take over Earth, the Decepticons need to locate the 'All Spark', a cube of immense power that is capable of changing normal everyday appliances into transformable robots. Mankind, together with the Autobots leader, Optimus Prime, are there to stop Megatron (leader to the Decepticons) and his league of rebel robots.

The special effects of this movie are highly impressive. Nothing like the special effects quality of the Zords or the Megazord in the movie, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I especially like the scenes where the robots jump in mid-air and transform. The CGI are top notch, the action fast paced and if you watch it on a good home entertainment system, the experience could be a tad deafening during the explosive battle scenes.

Plus check out the hot babe, Mikaela Banes (played by actress Megan Fox). Besides the robots, she's the next best thing in this movie. :lovestruck: 'Transformers' is definitely a DVD collector's item and definitely worth having. Watch it... :thumb:

he was the biggest dope dealer in the Us. he was the only black american to rise up above the odds against all the other italian mobsters.

he is, Frank Lucas. He was the Einstein when he is known for his disintermediation method.

He flew straight into Vietnam, and sold it to the streets by himself too.supplies were transported through flight with the help of the US army smuggling it through coffins. soon after he got strong connections with other mobsters on the streets.

he got convicted in the 1970's, with another $250million not including his assests were seized by the government.

a very much well done plot, with intelligence.

this movie is a must watch for all soprano lovers.

Jet Li once again does what he does best in the movies. This time, he is paired up with Jason Statham of 'Transporter' fame in the pulsating, adrenaline pumping action packed movie, 'War' (a.k.a Rogue Assassin). Lee plays a hired assassin embroiled in a traid war between two factions, the Chinese mob and the Yakuza.

Statham is the FBI agent bent on tracking him down for killing his partner.

However, not everything is what it seems and the audience is kept entralled, glued to the plot as the storyline unravels amidst fast paced martial arts and explosive action. This movie is a definite must see for all fans of the action/martial arts genre. Besides its great fighting sequences, there is a twist towards the end of the movie that makes this movie a tad better than the usual Jet Li Hollywood flick.

I for one, throughly enjoyed the movie... :thumb:

With all the reality video ghost sightings out there, I guess it is just a matter of time before Singapore comes up with one of its own. Well, wait no longer. The DVD 'Wujud' is now in the market.

Similar to our SPI (Singapore Paranormal Investigators), TAC (The Anonymous Clan) is a group of Malay paranormal investigators that ventured into various locations around Singapore in search of visual and video proof that pontianaks, jins and pocongs, exist.

Well, I have no doubt that the members are amateurs when it comes to producing this DVD. The initial introduction of its members and explanations of what to expect at the start of the video, are way too long that my anticipation turned to boredom.

The English subtitles provided are filled with spelling and grammatical errors. From the video footages, we can tell that the shoots are strongly influenced by the movie, 'The Blair Witch Project'. Shaky, dark and totally disoriented. Remember, this is a 'reality' documentary so those amateur shots are perfectly excuseable.

It is really hard for me to accept the footages as 100% proof of ghostly existence when the images captured are blurry and caught fleetingly. Instead of showing bravado and keeping their cool when it came to finding out the truth, the members ran helter skelter on seeing and hearing what they perceived to be the supernatural. The dramatic effect of telling the audience to watch the DVD until after the Quranic holy verses end, seems like a gimmick to me to attract more buyers and sell more DVDs. Mind you, the DVD costs more than $25 (I didn't buy the DVD but watched it from my nephew's).

Being a skeptic to the authencity of the events that unfold in the DVD, I of course have my own explanation to most of the ghostly sightings. When scenes are shot in the dark and the images are indistinct, plus with the eerie atmosphere presented, naturally our imagination runs on overdrive. A white cloth on a tree may just be a piece of cloth tied to a jackfruit and not necessary a pontianak.

As for the ghostly sounds caught on camera, well, I have my own judgement. However, I shall reserve that judgement for myself and leave other viewers to judge for themselves on whether they really believe in the authenticity of the footages. Just see the members' clips of them fooling around at the end of the DVD and you'll understand why I have my doubts.

This DVD is for those who like horror movies and interested in 'true' ghostly encounters. Personally, I prefer the Japanese docu-drama 'Noroi' better... :p

A couple goes trekking to enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer. Upon arriving at the nature reserve, they strayed from the normal route and took the beaten track instead when a stranger recommended it. As a result, things took a turn for the worse when the girlfriend got kidnapped for a sinister purpose by the locals.

Sounds familiar? Well, that was my initial reaction after watching 'Timber Falls'. The plot and storyline are reminiscent of movies such as 'Wrong Turn' and 'Friday The 13th' (there is a sickle wielding freak in this one). However, though similar, this movie is by my standards, not a B grade slasher flick. The acting by the cast is credible. The blood and gore special effects are believable as I literally cringed whenever blood is spilled from the manic slashes, thrusts and cuts.

There is a scene though which I feel is highly unnecessary at the very last scene of the movie. After the credible storyline, suddenly the director resorted to the cliche ending of those B grade horror movies. I guess he must have made the decision that conformity would be best when it comes to horror, slasher flicks.

Other than this shortcoming, this movie is by far better than the rest of the movies out there in this genre. I have mentioned in my introduction that the girlfriend was kidnapped for a sinister purpose. Actually, the couple was captured and detained against their will to serve a purpose to the antagonists. What is that purpose? Watch the movie to find out... :p
