Hi All

Dis is Raj working here in Singapore since a year. Back home in Bangalore-India i was riding Pulsar DTS-i 180cc bike for about 22months. To tell you itz royal bike with very gud fuel effecieny(compared to other bikes of same cc in India). I have rode dis bike at speed of 120-125kph on many occasions...i would make a point dat at dis speed the vibrations r a bit...90-110kph would b fine without any vibrations.

As far as maintainence is concerned in dis 22months i hvnt had any sort of problem and now my brother who's riding hasnt faced any problem yet.

We get Pulsar in 150cc and 180cc's, da 150cc one gives more mileage about 60-65kms/liter and 180cc abt 55-60kms/liter. Back in India its simply known as Bajaj Pulsar DTS-i with a caption of Definitly male.

So far only heard good things abt this bike. I asked some of the bikers who know people in India.. ..They tell me the company has a long history. Infact their bikes are more popular than Honda. More expensive as well. Yet the highest selling. They say that Honda bikes over there sell only because of the reputation. Other than that Bajaj win with hands down.

I gathered info that thiscompanysold scooters in Singapore in the 70's. Due to low demand stopped it. Now I guess

Was at a bike shop in Bt Batok, meet an indian guy just bought the Pulsar. I guess he said that was it was a good bike worth the buy.

Iam now seriously considering buy it

max speed only 120 ? thats a tad dissapointing

120 is considered enough for a commuter bike i guess? since it's already so economical liao we can ask for much right?

Think it'll be ideal for a daily workhorse-type commuter.

Amazing isn't it 18 Litres ! I dont't think that the Varadero has this type of fuel economy. Look at the Specs 180cc fuel economy better than the 125cc. When I first heard abt this bike , I thought It was a joke.

But I guess thats why this bike getting very Popular.

120Km/h I think is quite good already. Anyway speed Limit is 110Km/h MaX before getting summon. So what the point. Unless riding into malaysia. Then again this is NO Sports Bike,

The way I look at it Extremely good value for Money.

Only one thing thought Bajaj riders, What are the cost of replacing parts. Are they the same as other bikes. If they are the same I can still take it. Afterall the bottom line is al abt $$$$

Last time at BBDC while taking my license...talked to one of the instructors riding this bike...he also told me 1litre can go up to almost 50km...Till now i still don believe him...It's like impossible.....I'm sure if Bajaj manage to create a bike like that, companies like Honda and Yamaha will ask their top engineers to also somehow create a bike like that also......

Hmm bro r u sure???...cos before i bought the bike,i went down there and enquire about it,the fellow quote me 4.7K without insurance and since im 25,the first party insurance is about $900(cheapest insurance)...ntuc will cost me about $1K plus and that also does not include IU unit which will cost $170.

i have already calculated if i buy from the main distributor it will cost me $5.8K but somehow i manage to get it about $5.5K somewhere else. But def.spare parts and all....have to go down the main distributor cos most of the bike shop does not carry the spare part.have to wait till demand is more so spare parts can be easily available.

Anyway just for info,i have check with RXZ speed and RPM and found that there is a difference between Pulsar and RXZ.difference is about 10km/h meaning RXZ is riding at 100km/hr and pulsar is only 90km/hr.

Just finish my running in,i tried 110km/hr....slight vibration but main concern is rpm is already 8.5 and nearing the red zone(9 is already red).not sure about the rest of the pulsar..any input??...anyway i need to change E.O. so maybe after change will check again..

considering the fact that this bike is manufactured in india and tested on india roads, i belief this bike should last very long in singapore. the roads there are horrible, holes and bumps everywhere.

roughly how many unit came in to singapore?

hey guyz, jus wana check. i m a 21yrd old. if i get the bajaj, how much will the 1st party insurence roughly cost. wat abt 3rd party. any rough estimate of the price. thanks n regards....:help:

Posted

If im not wrong, 1st party should cost you more than $1k even the cheapest.cos for me 25 cheapest first party is $900 so yours should be more. 3rd party i dun know but if you are getting this bike then better get 1st party insurance for the first year cos new bike best recommended to get first party to cover everything just to avoid any mishap.

 I think the Honda Hero is also another best seller there. Saw quite a number of it there sometime back in india  In india, the road conditions & weather are very hash, even in the capital. And there was this guy tat i know tat travel every weekend back home from New dehli back to jaipur on his Pulsar. Distance is abt 220km. And temperature was 47degrees at 1time. Bike also no problem. So I have no doubt this bike will be very good for touring & city use.
