Hey bros,

Is it possible to get insurance coverage for track riding here? SMSA has race insurance that goes along with its race licenses, if I'm not mistaken, but what about non-competitive track riding?

Regular personal accident plans don't cover 'dangerous activities'.

Why don ask SMSA if its possible to get the insurance coverage w/o the racing license..

I'm sure they can work out something..Maybe need to join as SMSA member only..

Maybe Can approach Mr Jackson or Janet from SMSA..

Hi Constipated and Rain,

The SMSA insurance is just "peanuts", the money that they will pay is not even enought to cover a simple surgery. Of course better than nothing!

We have to find a good Insurance that is covering us! If anybody know a better option pls share.

Cheers,

to make racing more affordable, i belief cheap insurance was introduced. even at a lower price now, some potentially interested racers are complaining its too expensive.

Body can heal by itself, bike cannot heal without cash. Having said this, I wish to contradict myself by saying life more important then bike. ;)

i was recently introduced a Personal Accident protection for Life insurance policy by AIA. I am lazy to explain how it work, but will tell you guys what you might be interested. I was told that it covers hobbies such as track riding, scuba diving, surfing, even if it is conducted overseas. They also have coverage that provide evacuation in the event you prefer to be send back to your home country for medical attention.

I'd scanned out the brochure for reading if anyone of you are interested.

But this insurance does not cover racing related activities, it only covers track riding as a hobby.

Lastly, I am not dealing with insurance. If you would like to know more about this policy, you should go ask your insurance adviser to find out for you.

Hi,

i'm currently representing a local insurance company and would like to extend my service to everyone here since you guys are interested to have coverage over accidents.

Due to this activity being defined as harzadous, there'll be a need of a higher premium rate.

here are some guidelines that i feel that you guys should know.

1. the company will only provide coverage if the activity is carried out within the usual precaution and safety guidelines accepted for the activity.

2. the company will not provide coverage if the activity is carried out in a professional capacity

Hope to hear from you guys soon :)

bro,

with regards to the guidelines ya'd mentioned, will i be covered if i am doing track riding as a hobby at PG?

Since PG management ensure that riders are equipped with the minimum safety gear before allowing them to hit the track.

In addition, PG is a closed circuit and lastly, I am just a casual track goer.

Please enlighten us.

Thanks.

bro, are ya able to find out whether will the insurance holder be covered if he were to participate in the 5 lap challenge during PG track day?

that's a very grey area.. it's not really a race, which is why it's called a 5 lap challenge. but the again, trophy are given out to the top 3 riders.

ok, will look up for you but to my understanding, as long as the race isn't done in a professional capacity, the company should be covering. will double check on this

thanks bro, after i posted the question, i read the brochure again. it stated exactly the same as wat ya posted. as long as it's not a professional sport and not done in professional capacity, i'll be covered.
