anyone knows the penalty for riding someone's else bike? Is it revoke for both rider and owner? Assuming the rider borrowed owner bike and has a valid riding licence. All other classes of licence will be revoked too? :giddy:

yes.... riding without insurance coverage..

now when revoke will revoke all classes.

only salvation is 1 person bears all.... eg. rider took owner's bike without owner's knowledge. then the rider bears all.

good luck. most probably a fine n license revoke(how much i dun know)

all classes will be revoked

but i suppose there is room for negotiation if u have a very very good reason for doing so

if the judge accepts ur reasoning den perhaps u will only lose ur bike license while keeping ur car

that's what my frend experienced abt 12 yrs ago

not worth the risk. just add sub-rider.

imagine how long it will takes you to take back Class 2B, 2A, 2 and 3.

it will take you more than 3 years to be able to ride back a Class 2 bike.

and how much money will you spend retaking all the license?

I can think of many legitimate reasons why i would want to ride a bike

that i don't own. Like trying out the feel of many other types of bikes,

to see what i like before buying.

I'm thinking, insurance is only needed for protecting others while riding

on public roads right? So how about doing test rides on private roads,

eg private apartment driveway / parking lot? or may be roads inside

the former turf club at eng neo ave?

Anybody got any thots?

i think they are excuses rather than so-called legitimate reasons. and depend whether the tps or judges want to buy those execuses or not.

insurance covers every corner in sgp, be it public or private lands. you can still claim the other parties' insurances if they bang you in a condo's car park.

In the Motor Vehicles (Third-Party Risks and Compensation) Act, "road" means any public road and any other road to which the public has access, and includes bridges over which a road passes.

If a parking area is accessible to the public (for instance a visitor car park or a car park which collects parking fees from the public), it would seem that those require insurance under the Act.

It's a matter of finding private places which are off limits to the public - that's where the Act doesn't apply.

For reference, unregistered motorised vehicles such as pocket bikes and petrol powered motorised bicycles can only be used in these same private places where the MVA doesn't apply.

"Insurance covers..." does not equal "Insurance is required for...".

That is to say, although insurance is not required for something, it could still cover you.
