Excellent write up bro. Some pointers though... I think the thermostat is indeed to regulate the coolant flow, which in turn maintains the temperature of the engine.

The radiator fan is an on/off switch which is controlled by the thermoswitch which is typically located at the bottom left of the radiator. the fan will come on when the thermoswitch senses the coolant temperature is too high.

Another function is to allow a cold engine to heat up to its operating temperature as soon as possible by remaining in the closed position.

I think the only valid reason one should remove the thermostat and allow the radiator fan to run full time is when one has a faulty radiator or the cylinder coolant passages are badly "scaled", drastically reducing its cooling capabality. As replacing a radiator and block is vastly expensive, performing such mods make more economical sense. however, having a full time radiator fan draws unneccesary power and reduces fan motor life.

Thanks for the clarification. I missed out the radiator fan thermoswitch.

Hi dudes. was hoping someone can shred some light and insight on my lemon bandit.. haiz...

i am experiencing loss of power and i also noticed that one of my pipes, #4 (counting from left to right) is not as hot as the others after some riding.

from a cold start, after starting the engine, after 30 sec - 1 min of idling, the other 3 pipes are hot while #4 is luke warm / cold. i am wondering if it's is the problem of the ignitation coils or my CDI and i am hoping to just buy off the part from KS and DIY. can any body can help me narrow down the problem or advise some tests to further narrow down root cause?

your help is greatly apperciated :)

u know how to remove the tank and access the plugs? take them out one by one and ground each plug to one of the engine top cover bolts and check visually if there is spark when you start the engine. check the contacts at the ignition coil and the HT cables.

Hi I own a Bandit P. Experienced the same prob as

Gauntlet before. Brought it to workshop, changed plugs, still the same.

Actual problem was v simple, fuel was low in tank and the uncle forced fuel

into the fuel line using the squirt bottle. Prob solved. So could be fuel flow prob.

Yes, that's right. Take out the rider's seat, unscrew the two knobs holding the tank. Unhook the front of the tank and do remember to remove the fuel tube. The coolent's cap is just in front. There is a overflow container just below your seat. Check that as well.

how do we check the coolant level ?must we remove the tank?

Mine is using RXZ cowling mod to H4 buld, but need to mod it if not it will melt the cowling buld casing. Bracket for cowling also have to mod. Rear signal using kawasaki KR chrome signals.
