i 23 year old tis year haben birthday yet. i intend to buy cbr 1000rr 05 model. may i noe how much is it for a 05 2nd hand one . machine price plus insurance , interest everything la. Anyone noes ?

I went on a GM fruit / veggie diet, and have lost 5kg since last time. These days, I only eat watermelon for dinner. Only Sat nights with you guys, eat a bit more.

For insurance, it's better to call up NTUC and ask for a quote, it's more accurate.

 

05 model machine price maybe 16k plus. Interest depends on shop, 4% and above. When do you intend to get the bike? 1 or 2 guys here maybe want to sell. 04 color is nicer than 05 color, except for the Repsol of course.

The new CBR600RR7 looks good in real life. Very small package and VERY light! Also heard bout the V4 coming but not so soon.

I have an 06 coil standing by, although I feel I may not need it anymore. It's loaned to me FOC by BS. But if you open the packaging, have to pay them the full price.

 

For a couple of months until today, I have been having squeaks on my front tyre. At first BS thought it was the brake dust from my brake pads, but it didn't sounded like that to me. I thought perhaps I lowered my tyre pressure too much, and the tyre carcass has been bending excessively, causing the aqueaks, or maybe it was my forks, or perhaps the shaft of the front wheel, then I thought maybe it was the IU vibrating too much during high speeds. It was driving me crazy. Then for the past 2 weeks, the squeaks got louder until they become short loud metal scraping noises, like "kruk".

 

Brought my bike to BS twice, and Wilson kept telling me it's the brake pads rubbing on the disc. Finally the Stink managed to diagnosed for me the 3rd time when I brought it down today.

 

It was the front bearings. They were worn out and the front tyre was not vertically straight at times. This also caused minute vibrations, like the tyre is not balanced, although it doesn't cause pronounced vibrations of an unbalanced tyre.

 

In case you guys are having squeaks, this is somehting to look for. What causes the front bearings to wear out you may ask? Too many cornerings at Cameron, McDonald Hwy and Berjaya Hills.

 

Luckily they are quite cheap to replace. And I am ready to attack corners again. Woohoo!

stsoh - thanks for the info. i remember reading bout these stators not lasting longer than original though. anyway mine is under warranty from boon siew. just need a temp cheap solution.

In other news, this frame belongs to a Blade. That bullet like dent on it looks like it may crack right at the seams if it were to belong to a R1000.
