Hi all.. Im selling my h&b 40l panniers & rack which are customised for super 4 vtec III. Looking to sell at $930. I've had the rack customised at Seng Kwang & its as sturdy as hell. Tried at 160km/hr & no wobbling & vibrations at all. Good for those intending to go touring. Hoping to sell rack & panniers together. A deposit of $50 is required if ure keen. As the setup is still fixed on my bike, we'll then fix a date to unfix it from my bike n fix it on ure bike. feel free to ask any questions at 98776131(sham)

full setup: racks & 40l panniers ($930)

panniers only: $450

rack only: $500

does customised sk racks really make the box more sturdy? i am currently using givi rack for my maxia.. when going over humps or uneven roads i can hear my box shaking.. furthermore i am afraid the mounts on my spec 1 give way, i heard of such problems before.. any solutions to this?

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

its the baseplate catch to the box that's "clicking".

No matter hw sturdy SK's work is, it'll still "click". Same for my setup.

As for Spec 1's mounting point, maybe cant use the seat below point, cos that's a weak point...

if dun use the seat below, where else can i use? i thought of customising a rack to add in a few more mounting points so that it wont have so much weight on the point at the pillon seat below.. but cannot think of any other place..

as usual.. ask ah chong...

he asked me to get 2 bracket from ah boy.. 8$ each.. about 6 inch long with holes for screws.

this bracket is used to attach the givi bracket to frame underneath the rear fairing (fairing needs to shave off slightly (which is out of sight) to make room for bracket.

Go SK and tell them your prob with the mounting points. They will customise a SS bracket attached to the main tube of the sub-frame. It will then pop out from under your tail and can just bolt on your rack to the bracket. If I'm not mistaken the bracket is 6mm thick.

sounds like the normal givi rack mounting point rite? currently my givi rack monting point 1 point each side to somewhere near the suspension screw there and another to somewhere near the signal light below the tailboard (this is the point i am afraid of, seen the mounting point below broken off before.) anyway ah chong's pattern is 'not spoil, no need to change.' and mine not spoilt yet. lol.

if what ah chong ask to buy from what i am having, then i shall make a trip down to ah chong very soon. thanks for the advise. :thumb:

nope.. it's one point inside the tail fairing.. not the mounting point below the fairing..

Ok ok, that's the point Im refering to, if Im nt wrong, it is the place where the stock bungy cord holder is, by removing the holder, & use the screw thread as a mounting point.

However, this is a very weak part.

My ex-colleague's Spec 1, broke, went to SK, weld back, but broke again.

So, imo, the best would be increase the mounting points behind, i.e. over the tail board, behind the no. plate, etc, to ease the load.

Also, dont use the suspension screw, instead transfer to the footrest there.

eh.. hard to describe in words... o_O
