I have tried and I think I'm almost satisfied with the position of my E36 panniers (just need to lower a bit more). Will be getting the rack that Khai has shown and the necessary fittings. Then will be sourcing for reinforcement of the rack.

The positioning (bad night time images from Nokia E71)

pheeweet~!!!

bro, do tk note, yr pillion might have problem mounting/dismounting.

but, got arm chair effect!!

suggest go add:

1) Fork Brace;

2) Steering damper;

3) Heavy bar end balancers.

4) Handle bar brace.

if, you intend to hv that set up permernant. it'll reduce tank slap by the handlebar & wobbling.

thats what i did to my current setup... :D

The only thing I might need is the fork brace. So far I think my head cowling should be enough to compensate for the added weight at the rear.

Also got a 2nd hand mainstand the other day at 50 bux. The owner pushin bike to shop and he let me have it at that price. Its the MW mainstand.

One happy guy I'll be by Oct.

Oh ya Khai, that rack is E21 rack right?

faz, sad to say, it doesnt. cos the head cowl's heaviest is the metal frame support, apart from that, the rest's plastic.

im oso riding the same model as yrs.

& the metal frame isnt that heavy either. therefore, it certainly cant compensate the weight you gona add behind.

even im on normal daily usage setup, V46 top + E21 side, on a wingrack, handle's still too light & wobble left-right.

so i decided to put on the fork brace 1st, but same issue, then i add heavy balancers, got better, but stil have symptoms, then damper(medium setting), almost there, & finally, handle bar brace, & viola, problem solved.

it'll stay straight w/o any left-right wobbling.

oya, do tk note on the springs, cos i experience one buyer who wanted to get my springs for his aftermarket mainstand, after his broke, & no shop can replace. sadly, my OEM springs cant fit as the aftermarket's stand is longer than OEM...

& ya, the rack's accompanied with E21 locally.

So meaning I can't just buy the rack alone? Thanks for the input on the setup Kev. Will get it up asap and then monitor my handling. With the panniers on, wat is the top speed you manage to clock before wobbling?

erm, tink can bah, check wif ah boy?

got $$ sure can tok...

no need high speed when w/o the add ons for the front will already swerve liao.

so now, with the stabled front, i realise, with the normal daily setup, @ >160+/- km/h, the handle or whole bike felt floating...

really, i felt it last night... :o

My experience with S4 fat ass...

low speed wobble here wobble there...as time and experience with it...u wont find it wobble here and there anymore...It just getting used to it...just remember free hander is a thing of past once u commit to the Fat ass setup...

High speed...stable as ever...i even clear meter with it without problem...

Accessory added...Heavier bar end...

Now with vstrom...

Low speed...absolutely no different...

High speed..200 and above gotta really hold firm...and sometime can fell the handlebar start to turn shaky already...hmm i think solution is to add fork brace?

anyway it doesnt really matter cause i dont go too fast too...lols...

only when my horn suddenly appear then i probably become devil fast...

aiseh... tempt of the throttle eh?

bro, dun get the wrong concept, adding a fork brace is only to assist in cornering only, or literally, it doesnt do much of a help.

i experience feeling when i was, ahem.. clearing carbon goin for refuel every friday night via 2nd link.

literally, the handle's feel floating... :?

& so, it there happens to hv a can/rock/debris on the road, i guess my pig may fly...

maxia with baseplate for $50? you got yourself an absolutely good deal..

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

Think the Maxia he got is the Givi E50. There are 2 types of Maxia. The top picture is E50 Maxia. The bottom picture is E52 Maxia.

Khai, I think the normal Super 4 fork brace works equally on the same principle as the SuperBrace.

Btw, the WingRack needs lots of adjustments. will contact SK bout this. Thanks for the offer Khai. Hope to see your H&B soon.

wa! so where is this scrapyard?

Hmm but this product claim it reduce low and high speed wobble... i just think that this will do the job...check this out

BRACE

ya, it does. on my steed.

i imported it for it then. cos i'd changed to a OEM magma front rim, which is smaller than standard steed's.

it was wobbly(during corners) before i mount the brace, but after mounting, not much of a problem.

i didnt experience any problem moving straight.

to what i know, what mostly cause the handle swerving left-right(aka tank slapping), is when the rear's too heavy, front too light.

this happens when im on my current bike's set up, no such problem when it was totally stock.

well, imo, SuperBrace's quality & material's better than those that can be found locally.

cos its a fully one piece computer machined 6061 T-6 aircraft quality billet aluminum, compared to the local mass produced braces...

Kev, you installed mainstand right? When you take a left corner a bit low do you scrape your stand?

Setup:

- WingRack (courtesy from KhaiTronic)

- E36 (from another fellow forumer)

- CooCase Astra 48L

A total of 36+36+48 = 120L of storage!!!

Siggy pic will be updated when the setup is completed. Left with the reflective stickers and cleaning up of the boxes. Just came back from 2nd Link and manage to clear meter with no wobble or tank slapping. Kudos to Seng Kwang for the excellent brackets & mountings.

Why 2 base plates.. >> Cos CooCase base plate is plastic and the screw holes are like those Monolock honeycomb holes. I stil prefer alloy base plate. Therefore, mount on Givi alloy, then to the WingRack. Today morning go work take out panniers feel so naked. My gf also say like my bike now wearing singlet instead of t-shirt.

Hahaha!
