Got to admit...it is ugly...haha...but what to do...at that point of time i sold of my top box as i diy a toolbox...but then im sick of the Traffic jam...i took off the pannier set and use my e41 as top box ...

 

Ugly but unique...hmm...i tried browsing my album...see i got that setup photo...

I see someone using the Alu top box already ya... If I'm not wrong, the Monokey for E52 is different from the normal Monokey baseplate. If only I could sell off my CooCase Astra, I would wan to get the E450 Simply... So can use 1 key to open all the locks of my boxes.

 

Oh yes, I did enquire on the Kappa K33N. Just the rack and the boxes cost almost S$1K. Not yet included in the brackets. But from wat I see on the net, the rack for the Fazer 1K might fit with minimal mods if we use the normal SpecIII top box rack.

Hahaha~! Stil using the Apple panniers? I saw Pelican having a reasonable size top opening case, maybe can mod to use as panniers.

haha yeah...the apple pannier was with the ALu case..just dismount it yesterday...using my e41 now...setting up going to Betong tomorrow:cheers:

eh, can put, bt, w/o the contact point for the brake light, as it'll block the front catch.

but why use the E41 as a top box?

then no, cos its a Monolock series. The mount/catch point is different for the both mounting series.

erm... mine is simply but its not the squarish and not the new type. some where in between.. it looks like your second pic but the lock is a hook type (must push up to hook then pull to lock cum turn key to fully lock it. The base plate looks like mono lock

E52 is monokey, & monokey fittings are universal across monokey family.

But there's either plastic or metal(alloy) base plates to choose from.

 

eh Faz, I did some comparing @ TG ASP on my bike with FZ1 & GSR4/6 K33 racks.

FZ1's abit off for the mounting points @ the pillion footpegs(left), whilst the right side is totally off.

Whereas GSR4/6's the most closest for fitting with both side slightly off from the footpegs.

Bt the centre mount point(for GSR's exhaust point) is aga aga nice for the point of our pillion hand grip there.

& unless one would cut & re-weld it, else using retro-fitting brackets or extensions may look funny?

 

Think I may hv posted before(or have I?), what the distributor guy @ TG ASP suggested, bring a pair down to SK, to see if they can fabricate the contoured part of rack, as the rest of mounting part is more or less easy to do.

 

Price wise, i do not know cos i didnt mk appointment to bring it down, as SK says need to see before quote...

bt its still under Monolock family.

so no, the box cannot fit the plate or vice versa.

there's already ppl with that setup.

40L will be abit cumbersome when in heavy traffic thou.

Oh, there's no direct fit for the brackets also, have to bring to retro-fit.

you mean for the H&B panniers?

 

Every panniers can be taken out from its rack. No hassle at all. If not wrong, only those SW-Motech and H&B pannier racks comes with a Qwik-Lok system that allows you to remove the rack by using a lockable knob. These are usually bike specific racks.

Hi, here's my Ver S with 30L Hepco panniers. See my earlier post in this thread about how I install it. Anything I can help, just let me know

 

Panniers can fit half-face but not full-face.

i gave up on my hepcos last time cos the rubber lining which is supposed to make it waterproof didnt work.. when it rains heavily, water seeps in n when i open my panniers, got mini waterfalf & also a pond inside.. haha.. as result my helmet n stuffs all wet.. take good care of the rubber lining around the insides of the panniers...

Actually, its gd to just line O-rings with a little bit of grease so that the O-rings won't harden and crack.
