Hello, female learner here and first time poster! Taking 2B at ubi now and stuck at pract 1 on the third time. Sigh.

1st time: Stuck at tyre wall, can't find biting point. Fall down 4 times. NVM.

2nd time: Practiced on bro's phantom, progressed to small circle, didn't fall down. yay!

3rd time: Big circuit, can't do high speed and low speed braking.

4th time is this Sunday... anyone in the same boat?

Whats the proper technique for high speed and low speed breaking, the instructor talk so fast, I was damn blur.

Pasha~* Wow, you at pract 1 and even tried out your brother's bike.

I think there really isn't much to it, just slowly find out how to get the "biting point" and try to be comfortable... in other words... get used to it.

I am also a learner at CDC now who have given up several times. But now I am not giving up even if the sky falls... I'm still gonna book my pracs.

But I think that since you bothered to go for the 3rd time shows that you have much determination, something I admire in people. Remember to persevere and thinks positive!

Yeah I did, but now I'm scared to ride his bike even though it was just in the car park cos a friend got caught without licence by patrol. So scary!

lulz.... you reply so quik ar..

Well, what I heard from friends is that practicing without a license is best in private property. Like a condo carpark which SWIM does all the time....

As for the incident of your frend kana caught.. , probably is in HDB downstairs... must be EXTRA EXTRA CAREFUL!..

i think i am kinda bad too but im taking at bbdc. right now at 1.03(failed once liao, havent pass yet) , i took 1.01 twice, 1.02 thrice. (in bbdc, we go 1.01 -> 1.02 -> 1.03 then go 2.01 unlike cdc which straight away 1 to 2) failed riding theory evaluation too, how low can i go to? haha

took me 5 lessons before i finally can get moving off without bike stalling (bad coordination between hands, passed 1.01 at 2 times cause isntructor lenient)

1.02 was a hell lesson i took 3 times, i keep stalking and got yelled at during one of lesson and made one of the instructor rather pissed off with me. finally able to move out properly at 3rd try on 1.02

and yesterday i took 1.03, i still get engine stall while moving off ocassionaly, but still failed cause moving off wobble and late changing gear and poor braking and weak speed control.

for the 6 lessons i took so far, im always the blacksheep of the class, im the one always kana from instructor. yes im male, no special take care treatment from instructor

i think at cdc its normal to retake afew times? there is one guy who took in cdc before in same session as me yesterday, he told me he took prat 1 at cdc for 3 times and he said it was normal (think he was encouraging me when i told him i took 1.02 3 times haha)

What I learn from SSDC instructors is that, once you get your bike first thing to do is to feel the clutch. Slowly release till the bike is moving forward, want to go further open a little bit of throttle. Bike feel like stalling? Pull back the clutch, keep playing so that you totally familar with it.

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

The learning curve is the steepest at the beginning, I feel that it does get easier later on. I think I passed on my 3rd try at Practical 1.

For CDC, it is really hard to pass on the first lesson. I feel that quite often, they can't even teach everything necessary in the first lesson. So whenever I pass a Practical, I book 2 lessons of the next Practical.

For lesson one, don't look at the gauges when you're starting off, look ahead. Lifting both legs off the ground takes a bit of a leap of faith but after a while, its automatic. Keep practicing until it becomes muscle memory, your body will automatically do it.

I'm taking at Ubi too.. I used to be like you girl... I took 5 pracs for my prac1.. now Im on prac 4. although still prac 4.. however, wat u need to have is determination. make sure u feel the bike. get used to the bike. best is if u take a certain bike number every prac. and if u are quite a slow learner, go more than 3 times a day. I used to book my prac lessons in advance. when i knw im not gg to do well for that prac, i book many sessions .the trick is to get used to it, and practising is the only way.

If you want to accelerate your practical learning, read the theory handbook that is given when you sign up.

Visualize and practice in ur head before each lesson.

Better to fail the practical but gain more experience and improve your handling capabilities before u ride on the road later.

It’s only a matter of time & $.

Once u pass ure on your own and it no longer a controlled environment like in the driving center :D

yea i think so too, i think the centers should make the lessons even more stricter. i rather i fail more pracs in the center than having a accident on the road

hi guys for im new here...for the first time in my life i touched bikes.....i only cleared the orientation in practical 1.....

for me, i didnt even ride on bikes before i started taking 2b... many pple repeat their practs, every pract, 2 to 3 times, or more if necessary.. dont feel disheartened... put it bluntly, its like burning cash ( in my situation ) to get practice, but u'll feel more comfortable as u ride more.. :thumb:
