saw a strange scene which i had to share

this woman alighting the bus went in front n handed the bus driver a plastic bag without saying anything. after she alighted, she just walk off like nothing happen. the driver checked the bag before tugging it away. during the few stops, he keep peeing into the bag.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

A few things to read for those going on the MY trip this Sunday.

This is to all help us align on Dos and Don'ts and have a safe ride :

1. Malaysia is not Singapore (repeat in your head 10 times, then take off)

2. The roads are often filled with potholes

http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTe3dgQPhCnv4xyu5Q6lk-ZaWYuek74ohHBB_Mzcs3ZgElpJEz1

Riding potholes : don't try to avoid a pothole you've seen at the last second. Just grab your handlebar firmly, brace yourself and let the bike ride through. Don't brake suddenly to slow down, just get a good grip on your handlebar, and tighten your knee grip on the tank and go through.

In general it's not recommended to swerve to avoid potholes. The best way is to see them in advance and position the bike so that you don;t go through them without having to swerve.

If the bike in front of you swerves, don't panic, it's a pothole. Do as recommended above.

Make sure if you have a trunk or rear box that it is safely locked before taking off. A pothole will make it open if not locked correctly. This can be dangerous for the bike behind you.

Sometimes, the rider in front will signal in advance any hazard on the road, and in MY it's often potholes. Here's a pic to illustrate how to signal these hazards to the bike behind you : (don't attempt if not comfortable doing it)

http://www.ultimatemotorcycling.com/files/motorcycle-hazard-in-road-signal.jpg

3. If separated, do not try to catch up with the group formation at any cost:

If a vehicle squeezes inside the group formation, or a traffic light or junction separates the front bikes from the rear bikes, do not try to catch up. Be patient. Allow the vehicle to turn or move out of the formation if that's the intent. I think we have not been riding as a group enough to attempt overtaking vehicles inside our formation, so if a vehicle is "trapped" in the group, the front bikes will let the vehicle overtake them to allow the formation to be united again.

If you have to overtake a vehicle, always make sure when you get back into your lane to leave enough space for the bike behind you to overtake as well.

http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTlSI2xXXRDAEIIFq5wzLbKSAth-UwUiUL8YZgSw9WN6NPG11jg&t=1

The front bikes will always wait for the rear bikes if separated. They will slow down or stop at the side of the road safely with hazard lights on. When you will get to their level, they will take off again.

If you are separated or lost (which can't happen but you never know), just stop by the side of the road. if you can, call one of the riders. If you can't, don't worry. Park safely on the side, and chill ALWAYS FACING THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC OF YOUR LANE.

The other bikers of the group will quickly notice you're not there anymore, and we will either send a bike to get you, or all come back together to meet you. Don't worry if it takes a few minutes, sometimes traffic and road configuration don't allow for a quick u-turn...

4. You are first responsible for yourself and second for the others:

always worry about you first. Are you following the traffic rules? Are you riding safely ? Is your bike feeling ok ? Are you feeling ok ? Do you need a break ?

http://www.motorcycleinsurancequotes.net/wp-content/themes/aperture/images/biker-ok.jpg

Then only you can take care of the others: Is the bike in front of me ok, is the bike behind me ok ? Keep an eye on the bike behind you especially if it's a new rider. Make sure to slow down regularly to allow him/her to not feel detached from the group.

5. Speed and safe distancing:

During our trips we maintain a speed averaging 85-95km/h. We might go above if the road is really clear and nice to ride. Speeding too much doesn't really let you enjoy the scenery but it's also nice to pick up some speed but it has to be done keeping in mind the level of confidence of all riders.

http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR7gEmd8n14CVwSkHsfSEs1l2j291VFz8Q3XUc-t5YHqZYgPS7P&t=1

DO NOT OVERTAKE THE FIRST BIKE. In general, it is not recommended to overtake any other bike of the formation. In bigger and more experienced group, some riders have a role of markers, they go in and out of the formation making sure everyone is following the right route and are not getting lost or in trouble. In our case, we will have one leading bike and one bike closing the formation: they are called the Lead(er) and the Sweep(er) (or tail bike). If we ride properly, we shouldn't have a bike overtaking the lead, and no bike should ride behind the bike identified as the closing bike. And this goes for traffic lights and junctions or stops as well. Position your self so that the first and last bike of the group are always the first and last.

Distances between bikes:

http://transportation.alberta.ca/images/mc67a.jpg

Always keep a safe distance with the bike in front of you. It can be the 2sec rule, or any longer distance YOU feel comfortable with. Do not tailgate the bike in front of you, regardless of how clear and empty the road is, or how confident you are in your skills.

Now, in Malaysia, if you leave too much of a gap between you and the bike in front, a car or even a truck will take the gap and squeeze in. So we tend sometimes to ride closer to each other, especially when there is heavy traffic. Again, my recommendation is that you think about yourself first and your safety. Don;t compete with other cars for space, if a car wants to squeeze in, slow down, let them in. the rest of the group will make sure the formation gets together again once the car is gone. Be patient. Roads in Malaysia often have only one lane in each direction. So if a Car gets between you and the bike in front, you might have to ride like this for a certain time before the car takes over the bikes or turns out of the road. Please be patient :o

6. Signals :

I found some pictures on other site that illustrate the most common and useful signals you can use during our trip:

Staggered formation :

We will always ride in staggered formation by default. Even in Singapore. So if nothing is signaled to you, always position your bike to follow the staggered formation. Doesn't matter if the bike in front of you does it or not, you do it. And soon others will follow :p

There is a sign for that, it's :

http://www.nwahog.com/images/rg6.gif

Double/Single file:

Often in Malaysia we won't be able to keep the staggered formation, and we will have to ride in one single file. The first bike will signal it, and the signal will be relayed by the other riders. (If our group is small you should see it from where you are even if you'r the last bike but just in case, the front bikes will relay)

Slow down : pretty clear yeah ? :)

UPDATE: ...

ok bro got reply from indon ... see price tag above but issue here now is the shipping

30kg = $240USD = apprx SGD$302

so $302 divided by 13 pax = $24 to $25 each

so basically price tag for at present

Alum LED is $40 + $25 = $65

Raiser is $20 + $25 = $45

price tag subject to change upon any changes of numbers ordered.

let me know asap if you all ok with the price tag ... we can open few more ppl to maximise the 30kg to have the shipping shared cost lower......

let me know asap ....

MO Re Open for 3 days only ... please let others knows too .......

thank you
