The slim one is made in India. I think only UM will have it or people who have gone to India bring it along with them.

Oic. Maybe will call them and ask how much is it. Thanks for the info.

U can get a magnetic tank bag from lab, chong aik or motoworld..alternatively u can diy n innovate ur own handlebar bag to store ur stuff..heres mine..juz dat it got stolen

Thanks for the info. Will go and take a look when I am free. Actually I am looking for a transparent compartment to put my phone as it comes with a GPS function. I just placed an order for the Asus Garmin A10 phone for $0, so I am looking for a way to mount my phone on the bike. :)

I'm trying to look on the positive side of life but still cant always thinking that y am i so bad luck / suay like hell in life. But i gain experience in wat to do if accident happens in malaysia, prepare $250 cash for towing, dun care wat day who's birthday whether is it PH cos is ard that price. And u must bloody freaking hell know how to speak malay if not u will be screw big time worst than gangbang, and also prepare some cash w u cos i need to be giving them out.

I was going to JB for a quick pump then pick gf, went to change $ came out from how i went into the money changing area, was stop by police. Told me its a 1 way lane, lan lan i duno malay how 2 argue and u guys should know wat happen next. Move on to wash bike, bike wash done was happy it was clean and shiny, trying to tap the brakes to remove some water stuck in between, happens everytime after washing bike, brakes does not respond in fact NO BRAKES...... riding at 30 - 40km and this mother fcuker came out w/o checking, tried to avoid but kana his backside.

Things to note oso i always gear up whenever i go jb or ride long distance, so happen that i didnt wear gloves, with normal thin cardigan with inner singlet, jeans and shoe. Fall on my right so let the pictures do the talking and oh btw there are some things that i cant mention here so if u guys are interested perhaps the next next next duno when BTWO I'll share with u guys. Gain more knowledge rather than being taken advantage of, how i wish there was a mentor that guide me thru all these.

And lastly i wanto thank all those who called me and offered their help, I can garantee u our Bajaj Team is the best among the rest. Nobody will put their heart and soul in making things happen thats y i'm lucky to have you guys. I'm getting all emo - ed up sorry abt it was thinking wat if i didnt make it today, I will regret for life as i have alot of things i have not done. Lastly ride safe ppl and spend more $ on ur safety gear 1st before modifying ur bike.

I'm glad to see the injuries are not too worrying. The slow speed did help a lot, if this can make you feel better, you've had a valuable experience without too much damage on yourself.

I understand your frustration all too well about not speaking the language and feeling being chopped. This is how I feel everyday in Singapore - if you don't speak Chinese here or even Malay, you can just kiss fair trading goodbye. English just doesn't cut it, and I accept it. After all, in Morocco, you better know your arabic if you want to bargain or explain things...French doesn't always cut it even though people speak it.

Back to your incident, I think you did very well if you managed to get the bike towed back and got the info from the other party. I know while this is all happening you can;t think about everything, but did it cross your mind to call some pulsarians ? You weren't far at all and within an hour I'm sure someone could have come to the rescue ? Maybe you didn't want to disturb people but it's always good to not feel alone in these situations.

And don;t worry about emo not emo, an accident is not a light affair and not speaking the language is an additional obstacle.

I never bring much SGD with me to MY. I max have 40-50 on me, to avoid being robbed (legally by the police or illegally by whoever thinks I'm a good pray). Maybe I should re-consider..

Who did you call for the towing ? Where did they drop the bike off ?

Another thing to always carry on top of safety gear, is a first aid kit. In SG you can afford not to have it because it's easy to get to a hospital, but elsewhere it's best to have a mini kit with us. it's really not expensive to put together, and very small. Mustapha has some cheap band aids and gauze and all sorts of things good to have to clean up yourself an maybe do a temporary strapping on a swollen knee/elbow/wrist.

Especially for those of us who ride with pillions, we usually care more about the pillion than ourselves so it's good to have something to help them in case of a fall.

Overall Brandon i think you're being hard on yourself: you managed to take photos, bring back the bike and you're not too injured. It's not a hit and run and maybe the money will take a long time to come your way, but at least you got out of it in one piece and from what you shared, you did what needed to be done. For a first accident, in a place you don't really know and where you can't speak the language, I think you did really well :thumb:

Keeping the phone/GPS in the tank bag transparent pocket has a drawback: the heat. If you ride in SG where you'll stop regularly or ride short distances, it's ok. If outside, MY for example, this won;t be ideal, the device will heat up very quickly. I don;t know how asus/Garmin devices fair in the heat, but the iPhone/iPad for example can't take more than an hour of riding under the local sun.

The option that works best, both for protecting the device and for safe riding while reading/manipulating the device, is a handlebar mount. If your device is not waterproof, just slide a new ziplock bag on top of it and you're good to go.

The mount allows you to manipulate the device or touch the screen, and also allows for regular checks of the screen without taking your eyes too far off the road in front of you.

Now if you are in Singapore, and don;t want to bother with all this, just leave it in your jacket pocket. You can stop at the side of the road to check your directions if there's need for it from time to time..

This was the same experience when I met accident in Singapore as well. The car driver hardly spoke English and whatever I tried to convey was futile. At the end I was feeling like pouring water on hard rock.

Garmin fairs really well. I have driven at least 4-5 hrs under the Sun and there was no 'hanging' problem.

http://www.uclear-digital.com/index.html

http://www.uclear-digital.com/imgs/home/banner01.jpg

At motorworld comes with guarantee

Price : $180 a unit ( Rider only)

Price : $320 2 unit ( Rider and Pillion )

IMHO : Best Buy!!! ....

Hey MJ, I understand there will always be some kind of noise in the helmet, but I want to hear from your experience.

It's ok if you don't try the phone calls, but can you feedback on the music quality? And the intercom quality?

Even better, can I borrow it from you for a few hours to try it with my pillion please? Can come pick it up an return it at your home :o
