Can someone please post pics and tutorial to install the Protec coil and TDKs ?

 

Or maybe help me with answering these questions:

 

- Do I need anything else besides what comes in the Protec box ?

- Is it plug and play for the P200 ?

- Can I remove the stock coil and just replace by the Protec one ?

- Do I just snap the TDK on the coil cable and that's it ?

- Anything I need to be careful about ? (positioning of the cable, shortness of cable, any testing to do before putting the tank back etc..)

- Any reason why I shouldn't mask the blue part of the Protec coil cable, with fuse tape to make it black ? (I'll use fuse tape for durability)

- Should I change both coils or just one side and keep as spare for backup ?

had a minor accidental this morning along yio chu kang road..

 

was travelling straight across a small junction, on the right was a van waiting to turn left into those private estate.

 

that van did not see me coming... and carry on turning...

 

i was travelling around 40kph braked... but still failed to stop in time.

 

my tire just bang into the bumper with no huge impact...

 

luckily the speed i am travelling was quite slow...

 

so no damage was done....

there was a time when it's popular for ppl to replace the engine oil cap with a pipe an filter for breathing. but dont really see that these days. maybe doing that de pressurizes the engine block and is not good for EO circulation..

 

but it creates a space for the pressure to leave instead isnt it? cos gas is coming out from the place?

 

doesnt this mean hot air can come out. and p200 oil cool so it cool the oil better?

1) you need your stock spark plug head(just unscrew them from the stock coils and screw them into the protec coils)

2) yes plug and play for p200.(different bike got different response,so some might need tuning some no need)

3) yes just remove and install the protec coils(the protec wires are longer than the stock ones,you can cut them shorter)

4) yes tdk just clip on the coil cable. the K facing the direction of the spark plug

5) just make sure that after you installed the coils,start the bike to make sure it starts and then you can put back the tank

6) you can just go ahead to tape the blue part to make it black

7) changing 1 or 2 coils depends on what you are looking to achieve. if only want to change 1 coil,change the right side.(better torque) with both sides you will feel real good low end torque.

haha i'm not so sure about this.. from what i know gases will leak from the piston ring down in to the crank shafts and there's a already a system inplace that relys on the lower pressure in the crank case to remove the gas and vent it back into the intake manifold.. by installing a vent for hot air, you're normalising the crank case pressure hence the gases may not vent into the intake manifold as supposed to be... not too sure also la

 

but thinking about it, it makes very little difference since the air that's coming out is in small amounts and it's only taking the heat away from the engine oil n engine via convection. not very effective.

you're better off using a larger radiator for the oil cooler. haha.

btw i just switched to reserve today.. 765km looks like i'm not going to hit that priced achievement of 1k per full tank.

 

btw i turned two rounds counter clockwise from fully clockwise for my AFR. not bad.
