Bro, when i get my 2nd hand 180 @ UM..I manage to a get 2 helmets , raincoat & a 2nd hand 45l Zeus box...:cheeky:

Is there anything like a jacket cum raincoat? One that u will not feel too hot or stuffy on a sunny day but has gd water resistance during rain? :p

1.my cruise speed easily hit 120... top is 137-140 area... lol..

2.definately i prefer jap soft compounds. better performance and safety to me

3. got once i batt die.. push start total 6 times for 4 trips.. to school, out of school, from home to makan, from makan to workshop.. if u know how to push start it will be ok.. install voltmetre is a goodplan

4. split seat and non split seat i dun think for diff.. one is 2 seat one is one seat... dpdp

wow. u people really cleared up alot of my queries tonight! =)

but now i got a new list. LOL

 

1) do you all do sprocket modifications or modifications of other kinds to increase the speed of your pulsars? or are u all okay with 120km/h?

2) O'Ren mentioned that if i change the stock tyres of the pulsar.. are the stock tyres of the pulsar not good to use?

3) no kickstart is it okay? i tried my friends bike in msia and the push start just wont start up after a cold night.

4) difference between split seats and non-split seats

I recently changed my sprockets to sinnob 15X39, got a yamaha coil for the left and a protec coil for the right. Also changed the air filter to protec. I travel to KL once in a while and I did last weekend. During my first trip to KL, I travelled between 90 - 100 kmph. Beyond that speed I felt the bike scream like bloody mary and you dont want your bike in that zone for long. But after I did these changes, I regularly cruise between 105 (7k prm) to 115 (8k rpm). I can do those speeds because I do not feel the vibrations so much.. i also dont feel engine unhappiness. Bottomline - bloddy mary still kicks in, but past 115kmph.

 

But beyond this, what I like about these mods is - Lets say, i am on lane 2 at 110 and I am closing in on a slower moving car and I see some car on lane 1 far behind, I still can wind up the throttle move to lane 1 and overtake.. From 110 to 130, the acceleration is unreal and very useful. The lovable side effect is - when you travel between 90 and 100, your engine sings..

 

A top up to O'ren's post - The fuel consumption increases dramatically past 7k rpm. My first few slow trips to KL were completed in 1 full tank. As I moved to 105 to 115 or more, I need 1.5 full tanks to cover the distance.

 

Maybe all this is psychological??

Switch on ignition. Push bike with full force. change gear to 2nd acelerate and clutch in.

My bike's battery seems to be getting weak. First crank it starts then I rev a bit and after that when I put in 1st gear and move, if I dont rev enough then the bike shuts down(due to my super low rpm). After that if I try to crank again, it takes some 5-6 cranks for it to start.

 

I had a look at the battery, it looks like it is the top up distilled water type and not the maintenance free type. When I see the battery cant really make out if it has enough water in it. There is a battery shop near my house. I think I will take it there and top up and fully charge it. Or is it just better to replace the battery?

if yu want to check battery water level,use a torch light shine at the batt water level there and tap at the battery...

Might head over to CA Desker Road to find a new raincoat and riding pants later then if dun have, might pop over to MotorWorld.

Anyone wanna go for retail therapy? Timing around 5plus onwards.

please do becareful when riding at that speeds daily...

pushing the bike to 120km/h regularly on sg road is not only dangerous but also wears down the engine and bike faster...

yes you maybe able to handle the bike but new riders who want to try out the bike without knowing how to handle the bike will get into accidents...

take eliminator's brother(can't remember his nick) for example...

joined us for his 1st outing and he was trying to push his bike and "play" with 2 other senior riders and he crashed...

lucky he was not badly injured...

uncle mj and o'ren and some of the more senior pulsarians should remember that incident...

 

i am not trying to stop anyone here from doing what they like...

to each their own...

but i think some times we need to be mindful how we can influence new riders on safety besides on the riding gears but also safe riding habits...

just my 2 cents worth...

did not mod alot.. wad the others have... i have.. some stuff they mod i dun have also.. infact my bike super little mods

 

dunno why somehow can go tt fast... got one time service my bike top spd from 125 suddenly increase 130 like tt.. then slowly it keep increasing after few ocasion >

if u really wan mod for speed then must disturb engine and exhaust de.

 

 

tyres really depend on brand and size:) reccommend battlex if u got larger wallet...i using tt now.. use to use dunlop

eh push start i go gear 3 or 2 usually..

any jacket for hot weather? i sweat alot even on tee shirts...

Im interested!!! But i lazy to go der..hahaha..cn help me check..my fren bought tourin boots at CA for $80..if im nt wrong brand is sigma..can u help me see whether dey gt any colour beside black onli..i wan sum red in the boots :).

Alright ppl. Maybe i will just accept what my bike has to offer me for the first few months. :) and ill see again from there! Btw. I just went down to UM. asked the uncle about tyre change issue. He introed me to duro tyres. Duno whether i spelt wrongly! Is that tyre any good? Would want to know what tyres u guys are using! :)

This time, I think it is the battery. Normally it should be 'eheheheheehehwrooooom' but for my bike it is 'eheh' and dead. Then again 'eheh' and dead.Then after 5 or 6 times 'ehehehehehwroooom'.

 

My RPM at start is 0.8k RPM. I think cold start/low rpm is contributing partly to it because 1st time when I crank it starts because battery still has some power left. But when I rev it a bit the power is gone. If the bike doesn't shut down (when I shift to 1st gear and leave the clutch) then I am good, I can take off. But if the bike shuts off(due to cold start/low rpm), the no power already so battery like almost dead. I will increase the rpm a bit until I get the battery charged. But really I like to keep the RPM low, or else simply waste petrol at signals.

I dont have the stamina, bro, to kick start this 180 CC monster. I have tried many times but never successful.

 

The P150 I had in India was only kick start no self start. It used to start in 1 kick. Not sure why 30CC makes so much difference. Or may be I am getting old :dozed:

Shouldn't be difficult. Maybe kickstarter faulty? Or your technique ?

 

May be my technique or stamina because I have tried it on 3 different 180's and same bikes I have seen others doing successfully. May be next BTWO lets have a kick start demo :cheeky:
