went to UM just now

Ah Teck on MC for 3 days according to Chris(Uncle MJ told me 2 days so not sure which is correct.)

my rear brake light issue is due to my front brake switch contact gone

so changed the contact switch ok already

ask them to tighten my rear brakes and they really did TIGHTEN it TIGHT

was riding home when on the expressway i find my bike like cannot pick up speed

came out of the expressway and stopped at the junction at bt panjang plaza when i smell burning smell from the back

already suspect that my brake is too tight with the smell CONFIRM is too tight

turn into the road and stopped to let my rear brake cool down

thats when uncle MJ passed by and stopped

no choice the rear brake is so TIGHT that i can't even push my bike

after cool down i rode slowly trying to avoid using my rear brake and rode home

lucky i am just 5 mins away from home

now bike at void deck

will wait for my rear brake to cool down totally before going down to adjust later...

Good luck to you, and don't worry too much, it's not that complicated and if it doesn't work, try again, it's all good :)

@alvinyansg, that sucks for the rear break.. how can it be so tight it's locked like that? Surely they should've checked before releasing the bike to you.. :slapforehead: - was the shop busy ?

Maybe I read 130 for 180 for the tyres - I sometimes know what others have on their bikes better than my own.. :faint:

I should have some pics of my tyres, let me check... :shy:

Ok, yeah, rear tyre is 120/80 - 17 :cheeky:

actually there was almost no bike there

uncle MJ was there when i tried to push my bike

anyway i think i will call chris 2ml morning and feedback

not to blame with anyone

just to make sure that this will not happen to another pulsarian

imagine if the pulsarian is a new rider and no idea what is happening and just try to throttle and throttle to move the bike

and the rear brake seizes

and gets into an accident...

i encountered the same problem when i replaced my sprockets recently, I noticed that the rear brake had lesser freeplay and was quite happy.. while riding home from JB i tested the top speed which maxed out at about 120 which i thought was strange. which then realized that the rear break was tightened too tightly..

most importantly must have alot of self practice cos it's the handling of the bike that would give u the most confidence. and certainly must always remember the signaling and blind spot checking!

Set ur vision far and Plan ahead, just like fredd mentioned!

UM always tighten the rear brakes too tight for mine after servicing also.. more than 4 times liao.. cos my rear brakes will squeak a little de.. so i know once i start moving after servicing at UM.. sure squeak.. just loosen the nut a little can liao.

dun think it was me. i am not fussy. bike is just a transport for me.

hey MJ, what you said about Vespas popping a wheelie is so true, it will do a wheelie if you pop the clutch too fast. hahaha

hey bro, just curious, you change bikes so often, how do you manage the insurance. Last time I changed my bike I lost 25$ as admin fee to MSIG, inspite of getting 100% of the prorated remaining insurance premium back. 25$ I lost for the LTA transfer :faint:

Thats something really basic. I tighten the rear brake myself using the screw.

Hmmm... I guess the mech didn't even rotate the tyre once after tightening the brake.

BTW, you could have adjusted the screw yourself on the expressway with your fingers, its really easy.

i know how to adjust

just that since i am there then i just ask them to just tighten

was thinking since i am going to exit then i might last till i reach home

which is about less than 10 mins away from where i felt the "pulling" back of the bike
