Yesterday, got my vehicle inspection done at Vicom, Changi. Previous times, I used to always do it at Vicom Kaki Bukit.

 

Vicom, Changi is best ever inspection experience I had. The guy just sat on the bike and put the long wire, into exhaust pipe and then checked the tyre grip/braking over the rollers and thats it! He didn't check the lights, horn or anything else. I went really early at 8AM and the whole thing finished in less than 5 mins.

 

This place is highly recommended, especially if you have any suspect stuff on your bike

 

 

LOl .. during my Inspection at vicom bt batok .. not him but me on bike ... he just asked me if my pipe original than all me on bike pressed the brake and wala tadaa .... passed!!! ....

 

its just either ur luck n my luck got no fussy officer on duty on dat particular moment ..... jeng jeng jeng

Just came back UM, changed starter motor, clutch plate assembly, entire meter, right side control switch, left side control switch, throttle cable, clutch cable even the seat cable All parts sourced from India, including the crackcase rightside gasket

 

I was charged for labor only and engine oil(56$ labor +10$ for EO change).

 

The funny thing is UM was out of stock of the gasket and they took the measurement of the gasket that I bought to manufacture them

 

I also wanted to do top overhaul and had taken with me, the cylinder piston/block, cam chain/tensioner, cam chain guide,valves, valve seals, rocker arms etc.

But the labor for top overhaul, I was quoted is 150$. The engine parts all cost me only 200$ in Indian prices, haha, so I thought not worth doing the overhaul. The main problem is the cam chain is a bit loose and I think I will live with it and when the rattling becomes really bad, I will do the overhaul.

wouh sounds real bad there rattling sound? btw is universal motors the only shop that can service pulsar?

guys the servicing page 701 is the prices standard for all the versions of the pulsar? 180 or 200? coz im riding 180. i think mine is the first version? how many versions of pulsar are there?

UM is the authorized dealer for Bajaj in Singapore and so its the default option. Not all other shops can service the pulsar, especially the internal stuff, like engine etc. But I am sure there are lot of shops that have opened the pulsar engine before and overhauled it, but not sure how good job they can do as they rarely get the pulsar to repair. Also for parts they need to go to UM.

 

Having said that, Bajaj pulsar parts are similar to Japanese bikes, they were collaborating with Kawasaki before and hence most of the design would be Japanese based and hence if a mech is competent enough should be able to fix the pulsar. But when you have UM why take the risk as costwise you wont save much unless you bring your own parts.
