May be he has, but may be he does all these deals on personal capacity without laying up the bike,bikeshops layup the bike before selling, but in his ads he always mentions about remaining road tax. Actually this is illegal since when you buy/sell in personal capacity, you don't pay income tax on it. Just speculating here. Not sure though haha.

Hey never thought about the tax issue.. definitely he's doing it as a personal thing. But it's possible he actually puts the bike on his own name and then resells it, no laws against this, he just changes bikes twice as often as M0bilenerd

For the ASK drum brake shoes, need to go to Heng Motors @ Bukit Batok / Clementi (36, Toh Guan Road East #01-33) for $20.

If you can bargain cheaper than $20 all the better (he quoted me $25 at first )

Maybe you can ask here if anyone wants a set, I know @irahc78 was looking for them not sure if he went with something else or not.

Hands down the best drum brake shoe I've tried on the bike. Lasts very very long.

The idea of a sub forum is to have many threads like the phantom group: check them out : Phantom Knights

The good thing with this system is we can make threads for specific topics, for example:

- Sinnob Sprocket - ALL INFO

- Servicing and EO info

- Accessories and mods

- Buy & Sell

- Tutorials (photos or video)

 

Etc.. that would be easier for the members who only come to check in from time to time and do not follow the thread every day.

We would still keep a major thread for us (which would be this one just moved), but we can have other threads too as stickies that we can direct people to when they ask questions..

What do you think ?

 

Will wait for the moderators reply and in any case won't decide on my own, will post here when they say what we can do or not

 

Anyone else with feedback please give it so we see what's the other ideas and suggestions out there.

If yall think it's not worth bothering to try and pull out the info from this thread into multiple little threads, that's fine by me.

I have anyway a hunch that the task will fall unto me so maybe indeed not worth spending time on it.

May be water in tank. Take it to UM to diagonise and get the issue rectified.

I guess one whole day. They will have to down the engine and it's full overhaul, not top overhaul. Prepare at least 400$

I wish Malaysia too imported Bajaj pulsar, we would have got cheap labour and cheap parts too. Indonesia importing pulsar is useful only for racuns. At least the p200ns hope hits Malaysian soil.

Regarding the price and time, its an estimate only, price depends on what else needs to change. Couple of guys here have spent even 1-1.5k for full overhaul. Hopefully yours is only conrod and nothing else. Timing it could be more than a day, they will probably tell you to leave the bike and collect it in a day or 2.

 

They do give warranty for parts and I dont think for anything else. I remember once when I went to UM very long ago an Indian uncle came along with his son in law(uncle had gifted bike to son in law ) and was scolding UM mech because after doing an overhaul there again the engine siezed. UM mech opened the drain plug and no EO in the bike . The uncle insisting that EO was full but UM mech totally not taking responsibility and just pointing no EO in it so engine sieze.

 

Now who knows whose fault it is may be the customer didnt check EO level, but the fact that EO totally absent means some issue with the overhaul itself.

Hey guys,

 

Any of you here use car sharing like whizz car or carclub? Bike is fine while going to office but now that we have our baby daughter, can't use bike for family travel(if it was India then no worries 2 adults and 2 children can travel on bike ), and I hate public transport and taxi too. So considering car share thingy as my location in tampines is quite popular and there is carclub in the mscp in front of my block.
