Last time when I changed diaphragm at um jackie saw the slider at the bottom where there is 3 holes, that part had worn out a bit, the grey coating was coming off and can see the silver color inside so he said better to change, but price 85$ :faint: so I told him not to change. Right now my bike feels under powered a bit, it can't climb a slope in 5th gear above 90 Kms/ hr speed. The reason may be because of my sprocket ratio, not sure, but I feel it may be because of slider.

ENGINE OIL BREATHER SYSTEM

The movement of the pistons and the clearance between the piston rings and the cylinder

s allows some of the presure created by the explosions in the cylinders to pass into the crankcase.

If the crankcase was a sealed chamber then the seals around the crankshaft would blow

out dumping the engine's life blood, oil, over the side. This would result in a large silecence from the engine.

The breather is the vent to release this pressure.

Advantage

- Prevents Gaskets leaks

- Rubber O rings from damaging

- Cracking that may occur to excessive pressure and vibration

- Allows Fumes to Escape

- Lowers Engine Oil Temperature

- Slower Engine Oil Breakdown

Disadvantage

- Engine Oil Viscocity will variate

- Added Weight

DSCN2376.jpg

Here is the Engine Oil Breather where people use it as a cosmetic and even my friend with this thing dont know

the purpose of it . i borrorwed the picture from miracle_boi

The use of it, it is placed to exposed surface as the bottle will create a venturi effect, creating a vacuum that

pulls out air from the engine crankcase. Thus from there velocity is needed so the bike needs to be moving to

maintain constant vacuum from the crankcase.

APPLICATION TO MOTORCYCLES

- Reduce engine crankcase temperature and pressure:P

- Lesser broken o rings and lesser engine leaks.

Just to give you guys an idea of how expensive things are priced in Singapore. The carburator slider cost 85$. Diaphragm costs 20$.

In India the whole carburator costs 2085 Rupees which is about 50$!!!!! Yes guys 50$ for the whole carburator :faint: :faint: :faint:

reason why I hate to change parts at UM and waiting for someone to get from India. I wish last time instead of engine parts I had got the carburator instead.

BTW anyone here tried any other carburators on the pulsar?

People in India seem to have tried different types:

Saw a RD350 today. UBER MEGA NOISY POWERFUL LIGHT CLUMSY BIKE. the sound was awesome! is there any 500cc or 700cc two stroker in sg?

There are the 1) Yamaha RZ500 2) Honda NSR 400 3) Suzuki 500 Walter wolf. And a few others models. These are collectors items. Rarely seen on SGP road, but they do exist. Coz they cost lots of $$$$$.....

And bro - dont understand what u meant by light clumsy bike..? hehe. From what i know & what i had ridden, the 2 strokers are lean mean machines that takes balls & skills to operate, they are more powerful than KR or SP or TZM. Could die easily riding them. Almost impossible to harness their power. Given a chance , you try 1. Riding is believing .................

Ride slow slow. Getting old already..................

MJ bro, found an old post of yours, you mention that p220 carb can fit p180? Any mod required or plug and play? Maybe I can try to source it. Also you mention p180 uses bs26, I don't think so, because the ug3 part list has bs29 in it and I thought both p180 and p200 use same carb
