Just FYI to everyone, although this chain/sprocket is for P200, even P180 UG4,UG3 and UG2(4 hole sprocket) can use it, if changed as a set. P200 chain is thicker and heavier 520 size O-Ring chain and longer lasting than 428 size P180's standard chain. The additional weight of the chain although theoritically slows the bike, but practically shouldn't have any perceptible effect.

Revhappy,

Dont take it the wrong way but Im just curious what are your basis that it practically shouldn't have any perceptible effect?:)

I would like to sell my second hand Sinnob sprocket(2 days old) to bajaj pulsar 200cc owners. I know the thread here is for discussion but I couldn't find a better place to publicize my sale to a wide range of bajaj pulsar owners than in here.

Anyone interested can text/whatsapp me @ 8338 2976

Probly the only force when chain is rolling when mass of chain is higher. Means more inertia for it to start off and end off

.But if the torque of the main sprocket overpowers the weight of the 520 chain compared to 428. So it should be very insignificant. As the weight dont change sprocket gear ratio. But just useful weight for a stronger chain.

Not sure if you understood my statement, what I meant is the additional weight shouldnt have any perceptible negative effect in terms of slowing down the bike.

The basis is simple, the additional chain weight shouldnt bog down a bike with such high torque like pulsar, if it did, then P200 which is only 20 CC higher wouldn't be using 520 chain. Also you will notice P180 UG4 uses 520 chain whereas P180 UG3 and below uses 428. Reason? P180UG4 is more stylish and uses the open chain cover and for open chain cover you need O-Ring chain so that the lube remains in its place slightly longer. Making 428 O-Ring chains cost is almost same as 520 ORing chain, hence Bajaj decided, lets give the consumers a better(thicker) chain since we are charging high for the O-Ring anyways. If the thicker chain would bog down the bike, they would have gone with 428 O-Ring. Got my point? :)

Here are the price differences of 428 std, 428 ORing, 520 ORing

In India, inorder to overgear the P180, people there use the 520 Chain sprocket set from P220.

revhappy,

Totally got your point(had the same thoughts of the 20cc in difference) but then when I let my bike run on main stand and I kicked up to the 5th gear and run it, is not smooth or should i say 'jerky' which then come to my mind that probably it does not have the power to spin the 520 chain set. Hence, another question would be whether or not it will damage my engine in the long run ?

Actually, when the bike is up on mainstand, there is absolutely no load on the engine or chain so the jerking shouldnt be because of the fact than it is 520 chain set.

When you say jerky, what do you mean exactly? Chain is jumping? Sprockets is moving sideways? There could be other reasons like the chain has too much slack, rubber damper is gone, wheel bearings are gone or wheel alignment is not proper. Did you try with a different set of chain/sprocket?

Yours is P180 or P200? Total mileage so far?

I appreciate your thought on that question, however, I would like to suggest that if you are not here to help like how revhappy did which I'm very much appreciated with his/her time to providing me all the information and knowledge. Please kindly keep your comment to yourself. Thank you.

Question: Does the TP condone driving while talking on mobile phones? Because it seems that with all the feedback they are getting, purely from the "Filming My Ride" thread, none of them got a reply after their relevant submissions.

Wow, that's a rather epic catch. Was it a helmet mounted cam you were using?

Hi guys,

What are your opinions on changing to k&n filter for pulsar? Any idea where to buy?

Also, for brake fluid, how often to change or don't change at all? So far I only change brake pad.. Dunno much about brake fluid..

I believe a great alternative is the Protech filter is a very similar to the K&N and more affordable though, most of us here using it :thumb:

Brake fluid last longlonglong:cheeky:, if getting low level means either somewhere is leaking , or the front brake pads is getting thinner:faint:
