Hey guys

Spoke to Ah tek today and he told me batalax tyres are out of stock for size 120 X 80. So he told me can increase to 140 X 70. Also for the front tyre, he said can go to 100 X 80. Anyone got this configuration? Basically, the cost of the tyre is the same. The one thing I can't compromise is the top end of the bike. Currently, I travel at 100 - 105kmph. Any recommendation if the top speed comes down? Cornering issues? Please let me know.

thanks

Pulsar 200 stock tyres are already quite oversized for its capacity, I wouldnt recommend anymore oversizing. It only helps in the looks but you will compromise on the top end and power also. If UM doesnt have stock go to Unique motors.

The front tyre size that you mention 100X80 is actually what most pulsar 180 have in the rear(Dunlop TT900), so can imagine the amount of oversizing it will be.

HAri ... top speed n fc will definitely down but u have a comfort ride if u dont bother wif the speed / rpm n fc ....

rev ... P200 wif stock tyres sizes the best combo for its optimal speed n fc ... u cant compare wif p180 cos both bike hv different specs n load

when i changed battlax from mrf wif same sizes .. my fc n speed down a bit .. than at present i'm using 130/70 from 120/80 .. my speed n fc down more ... but i hv a better braking distance stoppage, cornering and comfort ride even my speed n rpm affected .... for a reason i changed my sinnob sproc to 15T38 as stock size to counter my speed n rpm .. :)

intend to change back to stock tyre 120/80 so my ride can voooshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh all the way again ..... but that jeng jeng jeng poisons too tempting even more .... kekekekke

Hari .. edited ... after checking the gearing commander .. 140/70 and 120/80 will give u almost the same speed but fc will go down dats for sure ... :)

I always wonder,if i compare the 120/80 and 120/70 for example .does the 120/70 diameter will be abit smaller due to smaller sidewalls ?, thus "undergearing?" or no effect at all?

120/70 will cause undergearing, like increasing 2 teeth or so on your rear sprocket. You can check gearingcommander.com

Regarding TW200, haha, yeah me too pity, but it must be created for off roads at low speeds so ok lah and also dont expect it to give even half of the Fuel Efficiency that our Pulsar gives. :)

Are u sure or not .. or you just typo any how n make jokes out of it ? ... aiyoyo

I checked stated ... wif stock 14T38 n 120/80 @10k rpm its max is 135kmph only leh

And do note .. our bike hv cut off limiter

"These engines are capable of of reviving very high, quite easily.

To keep them mechanically safe, a engine rpm limiter has been

incorporated in the Digital CDI. This curtails the sparks to the

spark plugs thereby limiting the engine rpm Max upto 9000 and

thus keeps the engine mechanically safe. There are 2 spark

plugs.

LH spark plug fires at 350 rpm and then continues to

give spark till at 9000 rpm of engine. The spark is cut off from

LH plug 9000 rpm to protect engine from excessively high

speed.

RH spark plug gives spark at 750 rpm and then continues to

give till 6000 rpm of engine. If engine rpm exceeds 6000 rpm

then RH plug is cut off. This is done to reduce combustion

noise created in engine." ... Pulsar DTS-i UG-III-180cc Training Notes pg 48

but on page 4 .. its sated .. "Engine cut-off at 10000 RPM Spark gets cut-off at 10000 RPM

to bring down the engines RPM for safety."

cheers

Olla MJ,

sbs front pad

671SQ $18 at Dickson Rd

151SQ - How much does this model cost?

Of these two model, are these high performance brake pads? Dun get me wrong. If there are any normal brake pads that are compatible then i may able to consider the price difference.

As you mentioned Heng Motor is available, any idea how much do they charge for changing the brake pads? Should they be charging labour at a high prices, i prefer to DIY then.

(hope i didnt offend anyone who are related to HM or customers)

As for the spark plug, which brand would you recommend? If you could explain on the spark Plug chart in your albums will be a great help too.

Currently on this bike the spark plug use is NGK F9. (Have you heard or seen these b4?)

Thanks

Cheers

Hi bajaj fanatics, haha.. I've just sold my vespa et8 this morning and I've been cowering the internet for FZ 16 until I came across the Pulsar 200 NS which apparently has the same specs as the duke 200.. I havent actually done any intensive research on it and its hard to get solid reviews from road users cox it seems to be brand new in India too. Looking for any info that can help me determine the true quality of the bike. If anyone has any available info on pricing or reviews on speed and fc I would greatly appreciate it :D .. I've already sent an enquiry email to UM pending their reply.. Seems like a solid bike all in all.. Wondering if anyone else is thinking of this purchase, haha.

No real info out of Singapore as bike still not on the road. Why don't you visit UM and have a seat on the bike. There is one on display there.

As far as I know, Duke and 200NS are different bikes built from Bajaj's factory. Specs are different also if you examine closely. FC figures are not out from SG riders as there are none. First bike on the road won't be so soon.

whats your budget?

if you willing to spend more, go motoworld get the taichi drymaster $170+ before 10%...

bring along your mesh jacket so you can get the correct feel of wearing the rain gear over your jacket...

there will be no space for you to keep your rain gear under your seat...
