i think i will try Woodlands first.. was looking at Google Street view at Tampines behind SAFRA.. looks like an industry area.. there is a bike shop at the entrance.. is that the one?

 

These 2 plaecs are so ULU man.. haha but if u wan cheap then need to put in effort la.. haha.. it pays a price to be cheapo..

 

Do I need to mount the bracket at UM first before going ther? Or they will help to mount for us?

I saw one guy at my neighbourhood with MONO rack.. quite nice..

 

UM sells nice Kappa rack price is 90$+10$ labour, the rack's bars are kind of straight and go along side the tail board. Other shops may not have the rack. LAB may have but it wont look that nice, its the one that goes below the signal lamps and then comes up. But it might be cheap cheap 65$.

 

For my previous pulsar I tried to get the clamps customised at a few shops,since it was the LAB type rack and the clamps were broken. Its not easy. So if you looking for second hand racks may not be easy to find.

 

I think the boxes that Farhan is talking about are the old school type You may not like it on your spanking white pulsar. I suggest you look in the Garage sale section and see if you can get a Givi E33(33L box) or Kappa Action 35L. It looks quite nice and perfect to put 1 helmet and raincoat and stuff. You can get it cheap for 30$. If you need to put 2 helmets get a 40-45L box like Givi Simply 45L or Shad 45L or Kappa V46L, all are nice boxes but may cost you around 50$ if you nego well.

 

After getting the box, take the base plate of the box and go to UM or Ahboy for the rack and ask them to secure the base plate to the rack. Then come back home and you can mount the box to the baseplate yourself.

Thanks man! Coz i saw a fellow SBF selling HR4 at $20.. thought of having a look.. it was previously fitted onto a Super 4 S3..

do you think it will fit?

 

UM quoted me 180 for all in (rack/box/labour).. so what you suggest is to fit the rack only and source for the box if i prefer a second hand one?

 

My desperate appeal.. haha.. anyone selling theirs? haha i know its a long shot..

Sorry, I havent ride YBR yet, so far only rode phantom and pulsar. YBR should be similar to pulsar 180. I heard that it is china made bike, so parts not long lasting. Not sure how true. But heard in the forum that the magnetic coil keeps spoiling fast. FC and top speed should be similar to pulsar 180. Tank I believe 10 ltrs. Rear should be drum brake.

 

I think you are looking at the YBR for sale in SGbikemart, by Shabeer? Haha. I would buy it if I can get it at 1.8k with coe until 2017.

I went to powerwheel, bikeshop behind tampines safra and got the front brake calipers serviced and the brake fluid changed. Also changed the brake pads(I had carried the brake pads with me, that I had spare).

 

But unfortunately, the issue still exists. Damn! 30$ labour wasted. Actually before going to powerwheel I went to another uncle shop kim heng huat or something on the same lane and that uncle seemed very experienced, he told me that the issue cannot be solved unless you change the brake pump and the calipers too. He said although the tightness is there but its a non issue and not worth spending so much to change all those stuff. I wish I heeded to his advice. Anyways..

 

Changed engine oil to Motul 5100, 1st time had to buy 2 bottles since need to fill 1.2L haha. But even after the oil change, this bike at standstill it is difficult to bring to neutral. But if you rev the accelerator a bit then can. So I guess thats wearing out clutch plates, but I can live with them.

physically will look ok when you look at it...

once you take it out, lay it on a flat surface then you will see if there is a slight bend or not...

Few people say like once in a 2 years only Yinghai(Gaban's friend who is a mechanic) say change 6 times in a year,haha.

I wouldnt really worry so much. Its a cheap 2b bike with cheap parts, you cant go too wrong with it.

 

BTW, chances are moniberd has ridden it or atleast similar bike so he can give his views. It should be very close to the XCD 135 that he rode. haha.
