Hi Doctor, i am going to UM today.. due to high oil temp logo flashing on n off.. from Strongbow's initial diagnose, carb needs cleaning, diaphragm needs to be changed, EO is not in normal color and better check the front brake clippers. Not forgetting the spark plugs too. Change air filter to K+N too. Hope UM has that to upgrade. Probably trying Motul 7100 oil..

 

I am still not a happy Pulsarian until bike is running gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood (each o represents a year.. haha)

see! doctor indeed! hahaha. freeman. dont say till i like pro. i paiseh la. i m just stating out the few basic things u should do to get your bike running in a normal manner. but one thing is seems like UM did not really do up freeman's bike before selling it to him. the EO is GREY in colour. wth. first time i see this kind of EO. =S

As you guys all know, I have bought and rode many bikes.

 

This is the ritual I go through after collecting my bike.

 

1. Change EO/ Oil Filter

2. Check Spark Plugs

3. Check Air Filter

4. Check tyres

5. Check Suspension

6. Test ride to check steering cone

7. Check Engine Mount (Scooters)

8. Check Belting/Clutch/Rollers/Clips (scooters)

9. Check chain and sprockets

10. Check coolant levels

11. Inspect engine casing for oil leaks

12. Check all electrics and wiring if possible.

 

These are just some basics. Usually I will change the seat wrap also to the type I like.

I do not usually service my bike at UM unless I ride a Bajaj. I have my other regular workshops for my scooters and non-Bajaj bikes. First chance I get after collecting my bike, I will change EO.

He told me all ok.. engine oil no need to change.. spark plug no need to change.. will do up the bike before calling you for collection.. verbally mentioned to him 3 times about 99,999km on meter.. he said will do up and will be ok.. end up i realize from you guys that 99,999 is a cancer.. cannot reset one.. only thing he did is touch up the cabling work underneath meter..

 

I am later going back to have them rectify the high temp problem and change EO.. this is really urgent.. As for the rest.. i will wait till weekend.. i think i will get wrench and EO and spark plugs to DIY after 3000km..

Just an update from UM visit about the high temp warning flashing.. servicing will be done on Sat.. assured that its electronic issue.. already informed UM about existing issues to be resolved.. hope this will be all.. thanks for the support guys..

 

TO BE DONE:

1) Change EO - appeared grayish black

2) Change spark plug

3) Clean carb

4) Change diaphragm

5) Check front brake

6) Check digital odometer which is flashing high temp warning

 

Also went to Unique.. they dun have K+N filter for P200.. but they do have Sinnob.. quoted $90 w/installation..

Alamak! I was at um too. I think I saw you. Were you the one who got the front brake pad and the rear brake shoe and the long metal thingy connecting to the rear brake lever to the wheel, replaced? I am the Indian guy who was waiting all the while haha. Unfortunately didnt remember that ns200 was there damn, I would have loved to see it
