Hi, anyone could list out the pros and cons over a 180 and 200, aside from the 20CCs difference?

200 only push start, 180 push + kick

Depends on which version of P180 you are comparing. P180 has 4 generations, but P200 has only single version.

The latest version of P180 UG4 is almost same features as P200, in fact it has split handlebars whereas P200 doesnt have.

The P180 UG3 again is quite similar in features with P200 but it doesnt have tank flaps, doesnt have split seats, tyres are thinner, mudguard also doesnt look as nice as P200 mudguard. The sitting posture of P200 is more sporty and the foot pegs are more behind and hence your legs are bent are bit, P180 Ug3 sitting posture is more like other naked street bikes like CBF150, YBR125 etc. P200 has fatter chain and sprocket 520 pitch compared to P180's 428 pitch chain/sprocket

P180 UG2 and UG1 compared with P200 they look very different in terms of looks and main difference being P180 Ug2 and UG1 are analog speedo meter, analog fuel guage and dont have lots of other indicators that P200 has. Also taillamp of P200 is led whereas P180 UG1 & UG2 is normal. P200 signal lamps are clear lens white color with bulb only orange color P180 UG1 and UG2 is the standard orange color signal lamps. P200 has Glass oil level indicator and P180 UG1 and UG2 have dipstick.

In terms of performance the 20CC extra in P200 does make a difference, you have better torque and acceleration compared to P180 and fuel consumption is slightly high in P200. Do note however though that P180 UG4 is slightly higher BHP compared to its older gens and so very close to P200 in terms of performance.

1 another difference, P200 is oil cooled and need 1.15 Ltr EO and P180 all gens are air cooled and need 1 ltr EO

Thanks for the info, I guess if I'd go for a new Pulsar, I'd go for the P180 UG4 :D

Shall wait till my finances are settled down and decide :) thanks.

Wanted to clarify on another question that slipped my mind just now.

What are the storage solutions on pulsar, i.e, underseat or tool space?

If so, how big is it?

Wave's U-Box could fit raincoats, Super-4 too.

So just curious :)

there is no under storage for P180 UG 1 - 4 and P200. only can depend on ur rear box.

These are the NS200s right?

I wouldn't go for that, I would prefer P180, although as stated @Gennosukes no understorage, thanks :D

The NS200 would be more for those looking for speed and looks, however I would look more to moolah-savings.

But I'd head down to UM to look at the NS200s though, they are quite a head-turner, I believe many people would take another look at the bike whenever it's on the roads.

All pulsars have little or no underseat storage...

im a 180 user here and i will admit it i went for the bike becoz of the moolah savings it can provide.

15 litres for 600 clicks and im a happy happy user!:thumb:

180 is a simple bike which uses only 1 bottle of eo so when u go for servicing only need 1 bottle.

as for speed and looks im quite happy with mine as im not a speedster and the bike is adequate enough for a point A to B bike for me. besides the looks is not that bad, like a baby super 4 to me haha if you took out the logos though :cheeky:

if you are looking for a hassle free and reliable bike both are good but 180 comes with a kickstart and that is handy when you can't start the bike via the electric start.

hope you made your choice with my 2 cents

Jus collected the bike! A few 200ns were being readied for collection. Envy the new owners. While i collect an old bike. Hehe.

Smooth ride home. Some vibrations that i need to get used to. Been riding scooter for 3 yrs so hopefully can tahan the vibrations. Anyway, i tink my fuel sensor not working cos after topping full, still got the red light n the led reading also still empty.

Another question to pop to pulsarians;

Any of you guys follow manual to change Engine Oil @ 10k km intervals, or @ bike shop recommendations @ 2k km intervals?

I saw somewhere i think mypuslar manual, that recommended engine oil change @ 10k km if using Bajaj oil, any other oils @ 5k kms.

How many spark plugs are needed, and is the routine oil changes, filter changes and spark plugs changes easily diy?

Is the 2 pilot lights infront above the head lights changable to LEDs? (like spark 135s)

Would like to clarify these matter.

@Strawberrydonut, I too am not a speedster, will take a look again at this bike when I'm financially settled down :D

I remember reading somewhere along this thread, that 1 guy got a tank mileage of about 700km before hitting reserve, that is an attractive factor for me :D

On a side note, I tried the posture of the 200NS, it's very comfy for a sport bike.

we don't have the bajaj special 10k EO here in singapore...

2 spark plugs needed...

all can be DIY-ed...

but remember to dispose your used EO properly...

its a offense to dispose it into the normal rubbish bin...

yes pilot lights can be changed to LEDs...get T10 bulbs...

700km/tank is still not the best...

1 legendary bike got about 1k...

200NS is a naked street bike...

lots of factor is taken into consideration for the design of the NS...

i also just changed my fuel sensor ytd. $38 + $10 labour. very hard to DIY the fuel sensor, i think better let the mechs do. how come you never nego ask them fix for you before taking the bike sia.

open your right side panel, use your hand to feel a bit under the tank area...

see if the fuel sensor switch is connected...

it will be a red wire with green connector...

Hi, anybody here riding the Pulsar 200NS already? I would love to hear some feedback and experiences about the bike. I'm still keeping my options open between the FZ16 and 200NS. I'm still waiting for my TP lah so still got quite a bit of time. :)
