while we're on the topic of plugs, what heat range you NGK users are using? cuz i went to UM buy, they gave me a NGK 6.

 

but cross reference from the bajaj manual champion RG4HC, is a NGK 9. Wonder if running too hot a plug? Anyone?

 

but i suppose if get from UM, should be alright eh?

its very easy 2 change plug provided wif d proper tools. how long is ur plug since u last change?

well, manual says check gap at 5000km, change at 10000km. then there are those iridium/platinum plugs w extended change intervals but cost more. then there are those who change plugs every alternate oil change. personally, i change it every 2nd oil change. they're cheap if you DIY. 4.50 / plug for NGK from UM, i do suppose if one was willing to shop around, may be able to find it cheaper. i guesss there are more exact measuring/observational methods you can use, melted/rounded electrodes, gap too wide, etc to determine exactly when to change, but i'd rather not wait till then.

 

oh, and if you got your bike 2ndhand, might be a good idea to change. when i got mine i changed it to find one plug a denso and the other, the original Champion, heh.

nbz... this morning halfway riding bike stalled.... try to electric start cannot...

switch to reserve ok can start... less than 400km since last top up...

 

go home check fuel hose, the thin piece of metal use to clamp the fuel hose missing....

suspect some cb kia stole my petrol...

wah u samn suay man. recently my house carpark here also got ppl try to steal cash card. my erp unit have i cover, monday night when i got home by car i went over my bike to keep something then notice that my cover have been open. Then i go look at nearby bike those with cover all open up, so i suspect got ppl trying to steal cash-card.

this happened to me recently also as in the bike suddenly lost power while i was traveling on PIE and when i stopped the bike it stalled then can't electric start. only able to start when i switch the tap to reserve. my milage then was about 350+km. think i need to go check my fuel hoses area also.

recently also someone switched my fuel tap to off then my bike stalled at a traffic light junction after i started riding awhile. electric and kick start oso cannot had to come down and push my bike to the pedestrain walkway then notice the fuel tap.

 

i always switch the tap off when i park overnite, so it's become a habit for me to turn on every morning. it guess its a good practice since if got fire, it wont explode, n if ppl steal n didnt notice the fuel, they'll ride half way n stall.

Random question to all : do ya'll keep your old spark plugs? or for that matter, any old parts that you change to UM/workshops? Or just let the shop discard?

i think iridium plugs best use if ur traveling very long distances which im gona change 2night n my EO cos 2moro if everything is planed well, im setting off to parit jawa around muar there 2 visit my relatives. wana try how iridium feels wen riding long distances.

woaa. 600 quid. did the bike break down after you got it? if not, what made you want to overhaul it then? quite worried.. full time NSF now so rolling with a pretty light bank acct.

 

anyway just washed and waxed the pulsar, whew! worth the sweat though!

 

mine din realli break down, but got lots of problem though.. instead of dripping EO, mine is splashing EO.. new shoes yet after riding becomes black.. so no choice gotta overhaul, change all the gaskets..

 

but I overhaul hot kena chop abit by UM la.. they ask me put bike down for 2 days mah, so watever can change they juz change.. best thing is if u go down UM do overhaul u go find ah heng or ah long.. they can mostly do it within a day.. so u can actually witness them doing..

 

if ur condition is ok then don realli need to overhaul..

WOAH. splashing engine oil? did the guy sell it to you in that condition? thats pretty bad man. my engine seems to be totally fine. only irregularities that i notice are some rust forming on the left side window in the engine (whats that??) and a metallic scraping sound everytime the tacho moves past the 4k range, and then its normal after that. no leaking oil or anything. so seems good! haha. i hope.

Spark Plug life can last 50,000km. No need to change every 10,000km. Change every 20000~30000km is good enough. Just take out every 5000~10000km clean and put back will do.

Hi guys, any recommendation on tire beside battlex? Looking for tires that have good grip on any surface, especially wet surface.

 

Also the price range of different brand of tires you guys had tried b4.

 

Finally, anybody tried Michelin tires before? I only know about the cute bibendum and the pilot road tire marking are quite nice.

neber seen michelin on bikes b4. bat-lak(short term 4 battle axe) is more den enough to grip d surface even on wet days. get a gd quality tyre. play safe. front tyre cost around $80 rear tyre cost around $90. if P200, slightly exp. but like told u, beter get gd quality tyres. i think michelin more exp but gd quality. its just my tots.
