cos i just bought mine from universal at bukit merah lane, i bought 2nd hand FY though.. and the boss said same... so i guess its not the latest model..

Southern motor selling at 16k, i guess that's the latest model..

$16K sound expensive for a 400cc version. If the price has not changed all these years, Mah Pte Ltd should be selling this version for $14K.

Hi Garang

If you are looking for brand new Honda Shadow 400, then look no further than Mah Pte Ltd as they carry brand new ones. Perhaps coming December you could give them a visit.

Ah I see,

Thank you Nights for your information. Your post is helpful in my quest for the Honda Shadow 400cc.

Cheers

Why buy new one when u can get a 2nd hand one at a lot lower cost. 2 of our fellow riders are selling their Shadows due to upgrading. Namely me and Adriel la. hahahaha...But good lick for you quest anyway Garang. I was like that when first starting to look for a Shadow. Hunt everywhere man. From east to north to west I travelled. Crazy. But it was worth it. :)

Can some krusier explain the differences between 2007 shadow750 and the earlier model. If not much improvement I will go for the price and buy from Universal. Real good deal. $12,800 on the road w/o insurance and no other charges. 400c.c. bike more than this price.

ok, the '04 to '07 model should be the same. How I know? The service manual says so.

Pre-'04 bikes, I know that they're higher in seat height, chain driven, air filter cover and rear fender are the same as the 400cc. The post-'04 models are shaft driven, teardrop-shaped air filter and rear fender is VTX-styled. Oh yeah, the headlight I think is different too.

Hope it helps.

Honda Shadow Aero 750 2007 version comes available in two selections of paintwork, a full black and white/grey dual tones. From what I have gather that the stock at Universal if as afirmed to be the same manufactured year as of a FY plate piece, chances are they belong to the 2004 version. Thus, on a 2007 version, you will see the fuel tank bears a different logo.

What I am going to put down next, I hope Johan can verify any differences in features compare to his 2004/2005 version as I type along.

Shutter attaching key cylinder - Gathering and summarizing the seat opener and steering wheel lock mechanism etc. It wll prevents any mischief to the key hole.

H.I.S.S. (it is an electronic control immobilizer) - Other than the original key, any other key cannot start the engine.

Firmly the lock - Equipping the strengthening key cylinder and strengthening steering wheel lock mechanism. Furthermore the equipment which also directly connected prevention circuit includes.

Alarm - Activate with the shaking and moving of the body and that shows the robbery control effect.

Headlight case of burette type (shell type) - The halogen headlight bulb of 60/55W

Gear ratio

1st 2.400

2nd 1.550

3rd 1.173

4th 0.960

5th 0.851

As for the loading, it is using a 750cc water-cooling OHC52°V-twin engine. Its figure 3.3m shows a low limits from the rotary limits by the fact that its flat-in torque quality and those output characteristics are wide. It also has an American identity of running similar transmission ratio of setting and is enhanced thickly from confronting, through V-twin peculiar feeling such as the emotional beat impression of boiling from the two cylinders, and, the torque kind of impression of kicking area pursuit. With silencer, producing muffler shoots sound, it rides heavily and echoes strongly in conjunction of sensitivity with the hand and actualize deep quality in the higher-order origin. In addition, it conveys the power, which overflows by adopting shaft drive to the road surface efficiently and maintenance free. Furthermore, the exhaust fuel reignition mechanism "air injection" is adopted as a consideration to environmental friendly.

In my opinion, the engine construction should be same if not similar with its past predecessor. Thus, it is believe to generate the same performance.

Nope. Mounting is slightly different due to the floorboard instead of foot peg from 2004 version onwards.

Thanks Night for those deep tech stuff you mentioned. Saw the Shadow at Universal and seems to have most of the items you noted. Not much different from the 07 model. They have it in black and two tone grey/black.

Only the bottom bolt connection point is different from 2004 model onwards and it is very significant.

Yes. The last I saw a 2007 Shadow Ace 400 couple of months back, it has the same floorboard mounting point.

oic, so they have a mix of single and 2 tone colours. I hope there's no price differences due to the extra layer of priming, lacquering and paint.

Hmm... Which section of the posting you have difficulties in understanding? :D By the way, I am flattered.

aiyo, nights, simple layman's English please

Which language did you translate this from nights? :cheeky:

Johan, can u confirm this; your's shaft driven 750 is a single carburator right?

The chain driven Shadow 750 is dual-carb. Not sure much about the difference in these but i know one thing's for sure, you can't ride a shaft the way u ride a chain/belt. :cheeky:
