Hmmmm, personally I give it a 3. Watchable movie but nothing great. It was never explained exactly what that girl is. The ending is a tad of a letdown. I can't really discuss the loopholes in detail without giving out spoilers...:p

I suggest that you watch both lor. If not, watch 3D first. The normal one, you can always watch it online somewhere or on DVD when it is released. For 3D, you can only watch it on the big screen...:)

whoa 5 stars for avatar! my eyes were literally glued to the scene! no yawning, no adjusting body posture and i even forgot to finish my popcorn! actually watched it 2 weeks ago but wth~

I finally went to watch Avatar 3D at Downtown East. AWESOME movie. Rather long movie at around 2 hrs 40 mins BUT the CGI, action and plot got my eyes transfixed on the screen. My excitement and viewing experience are heightened by the fact that it is in 3D.

 

The storyline kinda reminds me of 'Dances with Wolves' and 'The Last Samurai' though. Plus the character Colonel Miles looks like a blatant rip off from the lead character in the videogame, 'Project Altered Beast'. Those do not change the fact that the movie rocks!!! :cheer:

Now 'Sherlock Holmes' on the other hand is a rollercoaster ride. Great action, stylish storytelling by director Guy Ritchie and enthralling powers of deduction by Sherlock himself. Best thing is both Watson and Holmes are portrayed as men of action, not the usual, typical boring portrayal of the duo in movies past.

 

Mr Ironman, Robert Downey Jr, plays a convincing Holmes. However, during the fighting bout that he had in an underground arena where his fight maneuvers are played out in his mind before execution, he kinda reminds me of Mr Wolverine, Hugh Jackman.

 

All in all, a great movie worth watching. From the ending, I suppose a sequel is in order...:thumb:

On Valentines Day yesterday, mrs and I went to watch 'My Name Is Khan' at Jade Cinema. Wah, the place really like ghost town. Maybe it was because of Chinese New Year as well. $11 per ticket but it was really money well spent. It was the first time that I watched a Hindi movie at the cinema and one with intermission in the middle of the movie as well. :cheeky:

Oooh I'm going to catch that soon too! Hopefully, there'll be no jolly dancing and the sudden influx of backup dancers filling the screen for 5 minutes per interval!
