Why Caltex? Shouldn't we boycott those with more outlets? More outlets..More utility bills and blah blah blah? :confused:

Because this brand always increase price first and the others follow suit....

* Additional notes, the crude oil price is expected to raise to US200, so the petrol price will goes up, boycott or not, no difference.

Singapore dont want ? US, China and India want...

Not meaning to burst your bubble for each of you but if I had a choice in Singapore, I would choose Caltex first for its Techron engine cleaning properties, no matter whether it's the first station to begin raising prices.

 

I mean, it's just a few cents, right?

Even that, in SG, all gas stations usually follow suit...

haiz, i guess everyone is kiasu and selfish. pple who think techron is so fantastic and that 10% is so fantastic will stick to caltex.

 

U can go buy products which has techron inside and add it to your tank if techron is really what u want. As u said, its just a few cents, so if caltex gives a few cents more discount? why so gei gao? just continue to ignore them. Anyway its your decision.

 

As for the rest of us who would like to work together and try to break the local cartel, and force a reaction from the oil companies. We shall boycott caltex till 31st August 2008. Hopefully there will be some sort of reaction from caltex and their realization that singaporean motorists will not take such things lying down anymore. Pls support. Thank you! siao bikers and blur drivers and maybe F!@#er taxi uncles can finally unite.:cheeky:

Due to the limited supply of oil and raising crude oil prices, boycotting will not help. At most you will put 1 company out of business. You can boycott 1 company and if you succeeed enough, the company will pull out from the country and then you have fewer choices of oil hence leading to a monopoly, If that is what your aim is.

of cos we want the discount... that's the aim right?? so long as price is lower we will switch to lower brand... but 1st have to force someone to lower... if all the same, boycott Caltex!!! but if the drop is not significant... I will still boycott them!!!:gun: :gun: :gun:

Boycott? Check what happened during the previous oil crises before you were born. When price became too high too fast, and people adjusted their behaviour to substantially reduce consumption, then prices would correct.

 

The answer to high prices are high prices - high enough until they change your buying behaviour and that of others.

There was call for boycott of Shell in 20 Mar 2005, under "Must dismount from bike at Shell", disputed it was for out safety.

 

38 months later, there was call for boycott of Caltex, this time in support of My Car forum, despite so much hatred posting again drivers

 

What are we bikers trying to tell to the rest of Singaporean?

We are Mature? or Childish? or 2nd class road users wanting justice? or Too much time?

 

What is next?

 

Boycott ERP by refusing to ride through gantries while in operating...

 

Better lah...

 

Boycott all rides into Malaysia petrol because very the soon (31st May or 2nd June) we can not pump petrol within 50 km from border...

The fact that the price of Oil per barrel keeps increasing, Petrol companies SOONER or LATER will have to increase their fuel pricing. Its just that caltex likes to be the first to increase. In the end, ALL the petrol companies will have the same pump price.... Its business!
