i was thinking of using a mettallic pipe..smallest dia that u can find...it would solve the installation part..as it is slim an can be tighten with cable ties permenetly..with plastic tubes..there is a problem of the tightening part..tto tight ends up restricting flow..too loose will not stay..

other problems include heat , vibrationand stabiiity...of the tube as well as damage by itchy hands.

so any one has any metallic tube of say 5mm dia or smaller?/

please let me know

in fact the metallic pipe can be used as the oil storage as well..ie dont need the botlle ..

so any one knows where to get pipe of..lets say 1 lenght of 5mm dia and another of 3mm dia..will be just nice..

yeah...3mm dia..can be twisted / bend in any direction easily to position outlet over chain. just the right size to fix valve..if dont have i suppose 5 mm will do.

depending on the dia of the tube and length...the oil qty can be anything from uo to 50 ml...assuming every ride use 2 ml per ride..u can figure out how long the tube u need.

if there are more pk/ riders who are interested ...can organise a diy session..

base on the tubes..maybe $10 per set can be made..maybe even cheaper if more are interested.

i suppose once u have installed this oiling chain can be a breeze. no more messy/expensive sprays..etc.

yeah will source for the aluminiun or copper pipes next week,,,by then will have a clearer picture o the material cost.

so are u interested?? if yes drop your name/sign .thanks

I'm thinking of re-spraying my bike DIY man.

Take out all the mud guards and tank then bring home slowly do, anyone here got experience with that?

Preliminary items to purchase:

1) 5 x 100 grit sandpaper

2) 5 x 200 grit sandpaper

3) 5 x 300 grit sandpaper

4) 5 x 400 grit sandpaper

6) 5 x RJ London primer (1.5 cans for mudguards each, 2 cans for tank)

7) 5 x RJ London colour (1.5 cans for mudguards each, 2 cans for tank)

8) 5 x lacquer, no idea what brand/type i should get, any idea?

9) Tools to remove the guards and tank.

New rider, so feeling a little adventurous. Got any recommendation where to purchase tools to remove the guards/tank? I think the manual got say. Must check the specs exactly.

yeah ..i used only 2 type of sand paper

600, 1200 will do. if need for even finer grits used it wet with water.

primer 1 can will do.

maybe max 3 paint cans for tank and mud guard (if same colour)

lacquer max 2 cans.

please take note..in painting the minimum thickness required will be best result...thick coats are disaster. but for first timer u may need more cans.

go to Mustaffa and get yourself a good set..

allen keys set and a set of spanners, adjustable spanner and a set of screw drivers. and u will be covered for most jobs.

i woul suggest a more modest paint job first..say one mud guard/tank...and get a hang of things.

by dismantling all the stuff...it may take a few days to complete..

i am also preparing to touchup/repaint my tank ...u are welcome to watch how i diy it.

one quote u should take note.

Painting is 90% preparation and sweat and 10% inspiration.

The painting part takes the shortest time...the preparation takes up most o the time and it is Critcal u do a good job to lay the foundation for a super finish.

Gentlemen...ladies (if any reading this)..

DIY OILER...

after racking my head for the last couple of days ..finally a breakrhough..

please come to the next meet at the clinic and u can tell me whether the new fANGLE DESIGN DESERVE a place on your bike..

the exisitng design of tube abd medcine bottle still available on request..the items coul be bought at nearby hard ware store..instead of medcine bottle will be using tubes (but metallic tube of the size wanted is difficult to find..will use stiff hoses to replace it). This method is more superior than the bottle..just any place will do , when installing on bike...eg.on your chain guard. The total cost do not exceed $5..if 5 are made.

but i am sure most of u will opt for the new sANGLED DESIGN one,.

To indicate your participation please sign up.

thank you

You will need to remove the seat as well as the chrome rectangle casing for the signal lights, and box rack, if any, before you can remove the rear mud guard for sanding. Best get the proper tools first to avoid rounding the squares of the nuts.

I was thinking of just a thick metal or plastic tube for reservoir and a tap attached at the end of it, whole thing cable tied to the bike...

Haha sure Mepkoh.

Use wax, coat after coat. :p

Woot. After polishing with some polishing compound and wax a few layers its shining now! Pretty close to those expensive spray jobs I say! Gonna wax like more layers until can use as mirror.

Next step, back mudguard.

Still stuck on how to remove the seat - any ideas? The nut is at some weird angle and my bike was missing the spark plug too... hmm.

i should have warn you that it is best for the paint to be dried properly before polishing..

aftr the paint has dried and cured ..it is hard enough for a good polish.

anyway keep at it every day...and you will be satisfied.

to be sure that the plastic do not crack went to consult a car painter...he mentioned that there is a plastic primer for the job..for new surface without paint on it..once it is painted and u want to repaint rub down with sand paper until the cracks and the imperfection is gone but be patient and do a even consitend job and wash it thoroughly..and he emphasised thoroughly..no oil, grime, abrasive chips, sand , dust etc and let it dry THOROUGHLY...befor painting.

i intend to repaint my bike again...tank and mud guard.

i suppose the infor may be too late ....yeah just spoke to the painter yesterday..

good luck to you next items.

went to the hardware store and bought 3 hoses of various sizes...u can see from the picture ..the coiled up lenght is 2m...so u have the flexibilty to cut to any length u want.

if u use the whole length..i think u dont hVE TO TOP UP LUBE FOR THE OILING HAHAHAH

for the nrest of the life of your ride.

The flexibility is more superior than the bottle..which is less rigid and the joints may break easily.

So small end attached the valves to control flow...the other big end i have use my EO barndy cork ...hahha.The relative big end will come in handy when top up is neccessary.

so totall cost..i think can build 3 for $10.. the high cost stuff will be the valves and epoxy/silicon.

so anyone interested to solve one of the most messy and back beaking job og oiling your chain for $3..??? or u rather spend $20 for a expensive oiling wax...

Ausa ..oiling solution costs him more than $200....

You need to get a flexible head socket wrench, which luckily, is available in most hardware shop. Should be size 12, confirm later.

maybe $3..is abit ambitious..

lets do the costing..

to make 3 oilers.

1. 1 inch dia tube .. $1.8/m ....

2. 12mm dia tube $1.4/M

3. 8mm dia. tube $1/m

4. 5mm dia tube $1/m

5. epoxy/silicone $2.5 per set.

6. valves x2 x3 sets $7.80 (if one valve`=$3.90)

7 air tube $1.3/3m

-----------------------------------

round up $19

----------------------------------=

so 1 set =$6.5

if u want me to make for u..my labour charge is $20/hr..hahhahha 1 hr will do.
