Radiator - Problem Encountered

yeah, dats wat i did, the temporary radiator anti leak thing..thought itll solve the prob,but eventually it came back again..darn..oh yah, sorry ive forgot to mention dat the top block is a 2nd hand one..but its still in perfect condition...heres the breakdown for everything..

 

cylinder block gasket - 18

valve seal - 80

cylinder head gasket - 55

cam cover gasket - 50

cam cover washer - 40

coolant - 8

engine oil(motul 10w40) - 45

oil filter - 19

2nd hand block - 350

labour - 380

piston rings(mine's loose liao) - 160

 

grand total = $1205 quite okey lah, since ive been wif them for long, other places ive been qouted $1000+ excluding workmanship.. now bike is under runnin in process as my piston rings are still "virgin"...

hey guys i jus flush my radiaotr bout 6 months afo using inugel by motul now my reserved got algae inside... anything like this happen to u guys before?

same here... my fren had a mech to flush and "scrub" the algae out..

for my case, my coolent leaks out frm e rubber tube

check my reserved n found it empty.any1 koes where to buy castrol pre mixed coolent? BP used to sell but now changed to SPC liao.

 

Just now for the first time... my bike was leaking coolant from the tube also after a 30km trip.. Saw the distinct pink coloured Maxima coolant. I think about 8 tablespoons of coolant dripped off..

Is this anything I should be concerned about? I just changed my coolant about a month ago..

When the bike is cooled down, open your radiator cap and check if the coolant is filled all the way to the top. Check your reserved tank for coolant level, should be in between the 2 marks.

 

If coolant is not full at the radiator cap and there's alot of coolant in the reserve tank, it is likely your cap not holding pressure and you'll need a new one. Approx $5~15 bucks, depending on generic or OEM one.

yeah.. perhaps you need to replace your radiator cap. But if im not mistaken.. u had it changed not long time ago right.. hmmm..

the tube from my reserve coolant tank came out steam.. after i off e engine.. i could hear boiling sound directly under my tank.. my bike dies off suddenly.. can start a while but dies off aGain.. i check the reserve coolant tank.. found it empty.. now how oh?

dont get 2nd hand 1, normally ppl accident or scrap 1.. chances of ppl purposly change a radiator is very small.. who will suddenly go change a radiator for nth... i rather u get a new chiong 1
