That would be turtle chrome, but only for maintaining. If your chrome have already rusted, I would suggest to sand off before re-chroming again.

Anyone knows how much re-chroming would cost?

It really depends on the area that is needed to be re-chromed. I suggest to check with the shop instead as price varies.

Remember this part?

Was thinking if it doesn't cost that much and I have some extra bit of cash lying around, I'll go chrome it back. I'll be going to replace my sprocket and chain later (finally). Will probably go ask the shop

Its difficult, but not impossible. But I'd just live with it for a while as you'll be upgrading soon anyway.

There's no spray lacquer on the market, unless u pour into a spray canister for the spray gun.

Lacquering requires good hand work, else might mess up the results.

I think what you meant was spray a layer of clear coat?

It can be done, BUT the surface must be clean spotless, i.e. clean frm oxidation/rust.

When doing the spray, environment must be clean & open(unless got workshop), preferably no wind, NOT raining or @ night time & STRONG Sun.

Slowly layer after a layer dries, the result would be satisfying.

IF, doing it when there's moisture around(i.e. Raining, Evening, Night time), the whole coat turns white immediately... Then, all hardwork down the drain..

After its done, polish lightly as it'll wear the coating away.

Just my 0.001¢...

Correct me if Im wrong.

Never. I no money. :p I thought of spray painting it and stencil my band's name in it. But up to now, still haven't do. Lazy.

I think got leh. I used to buy lacquer and spray the base of my skateboard for the extra gliiide. But ya, it's a mess, must be careful, otherwise you'll see drip layers.

Serious??? Then the specialist paint shop owner must be bluffing me!

Quick! Tell me where I can get spray can Lacquer as so far after searching high & low but could only find spray can Clear....

*Note, Clear is just another type of paint but not mixed with colours.

Lacquer would be the slight yellowish(if I remember correctly) & thick 'high' smell... :faint:

No need for specialist paint shop la. Any shop that sells paint has it. Or try Art Friend. But then that time when I used it was more than 10 yrs ago la. Maybe now somethings change. I dunno. But should have la. Just look. Not very common but have. Same spray can as those spray cans with colors.

There is lacquer spray can in the market but probably rare and you are right about the clear paint. Both of the items could easily confuse some people out there. I bought mine from one of those D.I.Y. shop at Dunlop street that has large collection of spray can years back thus, you may want to try your luck with this shop.
