when u guys say mileage? km?

wasnt mileage = miles ?

so what i see on the odometer is mileages.

and to calculate km is

1 Mile = 1.60934 Kilometres

true to say that?

Hello! Anyone there?

A bit wrong to say that. Since most Jap models are in KM. Unless you are in US, they only know miles. Milage is a term used...not stylo to say Kilometerage...sounds and feels funny hahaha.

Very difficult to calculate can only guess unless you always ride till bike die (all reserve used up), then can get the most accurate distance per litre.

Anyway please take note. Distance do play apart. I last time ride Spec III. Workplace is only 1.5km away. So will take me 2 weeks before I top-up petrol. Milage is about 280km.

But when I went for NS, distance about 40km, more refueling. I can hit 360km with reserve (almost dry).

It also depends on habit, If you always whack and open VTEC, confirm cannot get high milage.

Please becareful when changing Sprocket size, the speedo is no longer accurate. As Spec III (dunno about the others, I think Vetc all same) takes measurement from the engine instead of the wheel.

so how do u all keep track of engine oil change?

see the mileage?

This is a bit subjective. Depends on your bike usage.

For me its, 5000 KM or 6 months, which ever comes first. By right an engine oil can lasts 10000km (or more) or 1 year+++. The motor can move but sluggish. Do take note, EO will degrade over time (even if you don't use the bike.)

Despends on oil also. If using cheap EO, please change often. The higher grade ones have addatives to protect the engine better.

May damage the engine component since by that milage, the Oil filter can no longer be working properly. This effect is on long term usage.

Noob Qn. Is the reserve tank part of the main tank or issit another seperate compartment. E.g. lets say my bike has reach the reserve tank. When I open the fuel cap and move bike around should be able to see the fuel splashing around? If I still see splashing around does that mean i have not reach reserve yet?

I blve my fuel gauge not accurate...

I do believe its in the same tank. So best to top up when it blinks. Anyway the indicator is only an INDICATOR, so do not trust it so much. Must use your gut feeling. Anyway a good way to gauge is to always keep track of the mileage and how much you pump into the tank. That will give you a better indication of the petrol usage.

Example, your mileage is 280km and you top up 14 liters...and you know that your full tank can go up to 16 liters so 16-14 = 2 liters left. Only a gauge, DO NOT ASS-U-ME you have 2 litres left, make it 1 liters to be kiasu and safe.

I just went JB top up last week. Was really almost empty already cos open up and shake fuel tank very hard b4 i pump but cant see petrol, only hear faint sound of petrol shaking.

I proceeded and top up RM$59.70 of Shell V-Power @ RM$3.15 (the most expensive full tank i ever got :p ) meaning i got almost 19L of petrol. But I thought Super4 fuel tank is only 18L?

Either the petrol price is wrong or the fuel amount meter is faulty? Or...

2000 - NSR 150 SP (FR 9409)

2001 - VTEC I (FR 9922)

2003 - R1 '03 (FW 5762)

2004 - VTEC II (FV *8)

Nice nos. for VTECs... Fated to ride VTEC :cheeky:

yeaa i agree.. got once, i miscalculate my reserve, my bike stalled itself at the Sg custom, before crossing the WDL causeway, luckily got one msian leg-pushed me across to msia custom, then i push to the nearest SHELL and pump.

FULL TANK for S4 Spec III is 19litres (brim) cannot squeeze anymore..

if i din rmb wrongly, the price for V-power then is 2.30RM/litre..

btw, mine can hit 382km/h before reserve... i travel more on e'way and go light on throttle, but will open vtec w the help of gentle downslope instead of excess throttle...
