eh guys...big prob...i wanna ask huh...if de fairing kena scratch hor...can respray back orginal color or not? cause my younger brother drop my bike while riding it...HEART BROKEN...2 weeks old bike now got scratched!!!

well...if need to respray can tell me roughly how long it takeS????

and how long it takes....

Spend money spray one side of fairing cost about the same as replacing one side of it. Perharps, u can ask around for the price. If the difference isnt that much, jus get a new one.

Nike - Just do it!

Automatic headlamp switch-on function on motorcycles

When motorcycles are in use, their headlamps must be switched on at all times. This is to make the motorcycles more conspicuous to all road users thus enhancing the safety of the motorcyclists.

Motorcycles registered in Singapore on or after 1st November 1997 must be equipped with an automatic headlamp switch-on function to comply with the above requirement.

Disabling of this function is not allowed.

I heard b4 due to the laws in sg, new bikes cannot turn off headlights one?

Not so sure as mine can turn off.

hmmm.. ok.. gonna ask a very stupid qn..

is there a batt for the krr? then if the headlights are on all the time wun it be very batt consuming? ummm.. I dunno.. cos at the centre the instructors always ask us to switch off the headlights after practicals..

yep there's a batt. and i believe its consuming when its turned on, but when ur riding .. your battery is somewhat charging as well, so its alright. please correct me if im wrong.

thats why its always advised to turn off your headlights when ur starting ur bike, it consumes alot of batt.

That not the reason to off ur light when starting bike. fyi, kickstarter can even start without batt.

Now, I dun think the battery powers the headlight (it doesn't look like it has the power to anyway). If your engine is not running, and you try switch on your headlight, it doesn't come on. What the battery does power is the instrument lighting, the signal lights, the horn, and the tail lamps.

After your engine has started, an alternator driven by the engine, powers the head lamp. Now, if you are adventurous enough, disconnect the battery, and try kick start. The bike actually starts (yes, that's the wonderful thing about kickstarters).

Try switching on the headlamp after that, and voila, the lamp comes on. So what does that tell you ? The lamp works without the battery ! So hopefully, this kinda proves that the battery doesn't power the headlamp. So you dun have to worry about flattening the batt when you turn the headlamp on. As long as your engine is running, the headlamp is powered.

The only thing is that, without the battery, and the engine isn't running, your signals, horns, tail lamps and instrument lightings do not come on.

The Super 4s are different. If you notice, after the ignition key has been turned on for the bike, the headlamp can actually be switched on without starting the bike. I have not seen the size of Class 2A bike's battery before. But I think it's much bigger. And of course, since Super 4s is autostart, it can't start without a batt.

Aren't you happy (really ?) you are having a kickstart bike ? :D

Now, part 2.

I have advised people to switch off their headlamp when starting. The reason behind this is this. If the headlamp is left switched on when starting, when the engine has just started, the headlamp will sap quite a large amount of energy. Now, sparkplug itself already needs a fairly large amount of energy to produce sparks. With the headlamp on, both energy suckers are competing for power. Your spark plug ends up producing a weaker than normal spark, so your starting is less than optimal.

For such reason, I advise newbies to switch off headlamp, leaving all the power to the sparkplug. After the engine has started and warmed up sufficiently, the alternator will have sufficient energy to drive the headlamp. At this time then, you can swicth on your headlamp.

So the practice has got nothing to do with coserving power from your batt. Understood already ? :D

gd n detailed explaination. Another reason why shld off light b4 start is to prevent sudden surcharge current causing fuse blown.

Is your temp guage, when u press the fuel button (Red), it serve as a fuel meter. So is 2 in 1.

our stock bike does not get hot easily, unless u're stuck in jb, caught in a jam, u can actually see it rising, my record was the needle going to halfway the mark!

http://alpha.singaporebikes.com/forum/uploads/photo-1115.jpg

why get a 1 when you can have a perfect 10 ?

Posted

I testify also ... ahahh ....

The temperature gauge seldom rise very much for KRR.

Even in a jam, it doesn't rise over the halfway mark.

If it does, better check your coolant level.

When your bike is cold, take note of where the needle position is.

Then start bike and let it warm up properly. Take note of the temperature again. You should notice a slight rise in temperature. This tells u the gauge is working properly. If not, your'll have to check your electrical system, particularly the thermocouple.

When you push the fuel button, the gauge now displays the fuel level. This, you better see needle movements.

hmmm.. interesting! starting to learn more about the bike already.. actually.. got alot of blue blacks trying to kick start the bike already.. but I guess must be seasoned to it. esp hate it when the engine stalls in the middle of the road.. that's when I wish the krr has an electric start..

and u mean the fuel gauge is the temp guage as well? hmm.. for running in, cannot go more than 7 rpm or 80 km/hr? got a difference u noe.. :D
