just changed my engine oil @ HKL, e staff there quite friendly as well..

 

for those going down on Sun, pls call them and check whether they have stock for Motul Gear Oil cos today i wanted to change to tat but they say no stock... they recommended me Motul engine oil 15W50 @ $12, seems like a good deal... castrol R2 they r selling @ $14 and for those tinking of changing ur tyres to Dunlop TT900, they quoted me $160 for front and back....

am gonna change after i finish my run in....another 400km to go.

then dont kick gear1 lor

when nearing the stop line

kick to gear2

then if light never turn green

then go neutral directly w/o going to gear1

since bike wont adjust itself for u...u adjust yrself to the bike lor

 

okokie...will borrow his bike to try try after oil change

usually the staff are quite friendly

but seems like quite a few pple in this forum kena bad attitude frm their mech before

i kena once before as well....

but i still go back...cause their oil is cheaper

 

as for the tyres offered by HKL

sometimes they put tyres used for front tyres for bigger bikes as the rear tyre for our bike

if you are not very approving of such a practice...remember to indicate yr preference to them in advance

and copguys, u will need to pay for engine oil. Tell them u need gear oil or minerals for now will do, since u;r just running in.

why dont u clutch in as approaching the junction if the light comes in your favour dis-engage the clutch lever if rev high flip up 1 gear,rev low about to stall drop 1 gear,just nice about half move off,no need to go to 1st gear unless stop completely

Hav u guys forgotten wat the instructors at the school taught. "Always come to a stop then change to 1st gear." As for engaging to 1st gear from neutral while at a stop, it usually will hav a "tak" sound (tats normal). U should hear those class 2 bikes when engaging first gear, will scared the hell out of u thinking like something going to tear apart. Oso while at rolling speed if u engage neutal gear there will oso be a loud tak sound.(experience tat b4)

 

Do u guys noe how the gears actually worked inside the engine cover wif the engine oil ?? I saw b4 my frens honda wave. His bike was having problems wif the engine so we remove the cover (when we change oil, the mechanic always screw open tat cover to pour in the oil; if u noe wat i mean) & peek inside. To our surprise, we found tat the engine oil is very low.(we were sua ku then). So we try to top up then start engine. Wah the engine oil then spurt out bit by bit n shocked us. Then i saw something like the gears rotating inside wif the engine oil covering abt 3/4 of the gears. When he stop revving, the oil lower to abt 1/4. Then i realise tat while engine is moving, the engine oil will lub the gears.

 

The moral of the story, (IMHO)... When coming to a stop, do u clutch in & roll ur bike while u engage first gear ? if it is, maybe tats y the tak sound come in. Because theres not enough engine oil covering the gears. Maybe can try rev abt while changing to first gear or best come to a complete stop then change.

 

* Another possiblity is ur engine oil need to be changed. During my run-in, i changed every 500km using semi-syn until 2000km. v important tat durning run-in use semi because ur bike is still new so u need to roughen the gears. After run-in then change fully-syn. It will not be tat smooth if u use fully-syn during run-in.

 

sorry for being so long winded... Correct mi if im wrong abt wat i mentioned, im still learning.
