hi, like to ask typically how long does it normally take before u guys need to top up 2T. Less than a week plus after I top up, the orange light comes on again for me.. seems a bit too fast... was using some castrol semi-synthetic. Is this typical?

depends on the amt of distance u have covered over the 1week period

1000km per 1 litre of 2T is ard the standard bah :cheeky:

Stock chain? My chain rusted when I used chain wax but when I changed to PJ1 Blue Label as recommended by Don, not a spot of rust ever appeared. :thumb:

Please note that you will have to replace the chain & both sprockets at the same time.

Hmm.. I don't know how to explain. There's this hexagon(I think) nut on your swingarm, left side of the bike. Loosen that then at the back of the swingarm on both sides, there's 1 nut. You need to turn it, let's say you turn left one half a round, you do the same to the right one. I think I just confused you though, very difficult to explain with no visual. Maybe you can try to go to a motordiam and ask them to tighten for you. Should be free.

For the chain lube, just go to LAB and ask for PJ1 blue label chain lube. They will know what you're looking for. The one I have is blue and yellow in color.

As for the chain, like Firespitter has mention, you have to change it together with your sprockets. :thumb:

outside 1. back part of the pipe???

It's the black part that is rusting right? Get some sandpaper, around 500 will be smooth enough. Do not get rough ones, you're going to scratch your exhaust. Then go sand the rust away, after that, if you're happy with the result then that's it. If you want your exhaust to look nice, go get some high temp black spray and spray onto the portion you sanded away.

I'm using RJ Hi Temp Black Spray from Home-fix. Works fine. Think I bought it around for 10 bucks.

how long will it last???? without the rust coming back

Usually the spray can last abt a mth - 3 mths depending on condition of weather etc. i bought the same hi temp spray. works fine. i sprayed my exhaust. rust didn't come until abt a mth later.... if u sand properly and clean the dirt and dust away...it can last long

huh..thats weird

when it's properly lube...the lube should form a layer over the metal parts of the chain right...then how the rust form?

When it rains, all yr chain lube/wax/whatever things gets washs away.

Thus the rust. The best thing to do, if u really pamper yr bike is to lube it weekly.

I use to do that last time when i riding KRR in the beginning of my riding days.

As i had a car jack at home, i used it to jack up my bike, then sprayed WD40 over, used newspaper to clean my chain and then i will lube it with chain lube.

Nike - Just do it!

now am oso using PJ1 but still looks rusty. how come it's so difficult to adjust the chain by ourselves one ah....unlike other bike which is so easy and my guy was complaining cos he couldn't get it open unlike his other bikes :weep: dun wan to go bk same bike shop cos that time they did a f up job by tighting until so tight and lucky my friend was ard and he had to help me push it to his friend's shop to loosen a lil otherwise my chain would hv snapped!

whazzup : it's a common problem keke i have learn to live w it, cos watever u do, sand lah, spray lah, sometime later, it will still come bk. moreover when i had my bike it was new. u will soon c the chain & screws rusting too

No lah. Not that difficult lah but about chain tightening, even mechanics make the mistake of over tightening. If I'm not doing the chain tightening by myself, my usual mech (Ah Tai @ Dili Trading) does it very well for me, I'm always seated on top of the bike so that he can make sure it's not over tightened.

hey guys, my bike just gave out on me while i was riding along farrer rd. Halfway at top gear, the engine suddenly started sounding funny, think its either the gears or the engine. After I switch off the engine i can't change the gear down... What might be the problem? Probably have to call some guy to tow it to a workshop tmrw morning, u guys have any recommendations who to call?

THanks man...
