I have a doubt here, during normal sunday trackday in PG do the management allowed photographer to shoot around track esp near the turn 1? do they need any special pass? i do have a fren who are keen in taking photo from the track as normally he only shoot for wedding and other events..

Regulations at PG do *not* permit people like you and I to be at places only meant for PG track personnel.

Especially when there's "Dilarang Masuk" signs, and these places are meant for track personnel to quickly go to somebody's rescue or aid if something happens. Not to mention the danger of being hit from a bike that has gone off-track.

However, the shed at Turn 1 is fine.

This is what I got when I asked the people manning the entry point into the track

Have fun, and watch out for bikes entering when you cross that service road.

Instead of opening a new thread, I thought I just borrow this thread. Apologies to TS for the intrusion. I'm also interested in trying out track photography but have no prior experience in photo taking. Can I ask what camera is considered "acceptable" to produce "ok-ok" shots?

You may wanna try a Prosumer camera.

These class of cameras are in between the simple "consumer" camera, and the more advanced DSLR cameras.

Midrange camera, in layman's terms, in which is one-step up from normal "consumer" point and shoot cameras and they are a little big bigger.

Anyways, get one that lets you have the flexibility of adjusting manual settings when you're tired of switching the camera to AUTO. Here's some prosumer camera models that you can consider.

Canon Powershot G7

Olympus SP-560 UZ

...and many more from Nikon and others...

If possible, opt for those with anti-handshake technology too. Helps a bit in photo taking whilst standing up.

Cheers.
