I was scared too @ first but in the end, I managed to overcome it after many practices. The key is to stay relaxed, focus eyeline @ the pylon slalom cones when you're on the plank and try to 'feel' the plank as you ride on it. Steady throttle and use rear brakes to control the speed.

As for the pylon slalom, just make sure u manage to kick to gear 2 and then maintain the throttle, don't be afraid to swing the bike, momentum is important here. =) All the best!

--> Its official for me..the wait begins for the 19th of Nov.

I was kinda wondering why I passed prac 3 when I passed, cause I think i'm still not zai at the figure 8, and I fell down twice in the crank course. So I think for this prac 4... gonna be stuck for some time..

Thanks for the advice though~ Have been reading up on past narrow plank and the pylon slalom threads.. Haha. But yeah i know, 'theory' is still 'theory'. Got to experience then will know..

for narrow plank, throttle to go up, after that swing the front handle to do balance.. it's ok to "swing" to get balance.. (Some riders worry that can cause the falling off, but actually it's opposite.. :)

inch forward slowly to get enough timing..

okay, I learnt my narrow plank from this video.. :)

The thing with me is that I unknowingly keep pressing on my rear brake, then i kan cheong then throttle and somehow pull cluch.. so I panic and i fall off the plank. -.- like for two to three times in a row.. I keep telling myself fun go too fast, then put half cluch.. so when i kan cheong, i pull too much cluch and i step rear brake too hard.. Then when I wanna move I throttle.. and my bike obviously don't move cause i'm stepping on the rear brake and pulling the cluch.

T.T How dumb. So i think is coordination problem.. My pylon slalom ok, e-brake ok. Just when I go to narrow plank, I keep panicking.. :( Hais. I knew i'll screw up, so I booked this friday and next tuesday's slot even before I went for yesterday's. T.T

You better be very familiar with the biting point of your bike. Another trick for plank is, go up fast, clutch in and let the bike roll all the way to the stop line before the pylon slalom. If it's too fast then tap a bit of the rear brake.

I think maybe part of me was trying to do the roll thing, but i step too hard on the brakes, so in the end too slow then wobble. Then I panic, wanna throttle then forgot to clutch out n release more brake.. Too panicky..

Biting point is okay for me, I usually get it right.. I think, I thinking too much when I'm on the plank. So mess up the co-ordination lor.

Part of me want to put half clutch n maintain throttle then tap rear brakes, another part wants to roll all the way.. So in the end not here not there... (I think it's the problem of reading up too much that sets me thinking too much)

I should probably find the most comfortable method for myself... How how..........

When you decide on something, do it. Not good to have second thoughts, it'll just screw up the entire process. Before you go up the plank, tell yourself what are you going to do then proceed with it. Go for more revisions to sharpen that skill of yours.

Remember it's better to clear the plank fast rather than falling off.

wobble doesn't matter. they wont minus points.. wobble abit actually helps to balance.. :)

first you concentrate to able to move up and row slowly to the end of the plank.. (forget about the timing)

After you master how to balance properly then you start to think about how to slow down to get some time on the plank.. it works for me.. :)

Wobbling on the road on the other hand, costs points.

I just enrolled for class 2 at cdc & saw that I had to book 2 wks in advance for a free slot.

Is this because class 2 had gotten difficult at cdc?

From my memory, there weren't sunday lessons before.. is this new?

Hhaha.. I used this technique of intentional wobbling to balance. It allows you to go dam slowly on the plank.

But the ku-ku instructor put down. unstable on plank, need more practice.
