hi...can someone help me here?

i have major problem stopping properly without wobbling like a jello at junctions.

usually i try to keep up with the rider in front of me so that the gap is not too big and i would go up to gear 5. but we keep having to stop at junctions and this is what really worries me.

can someone give me step-by-step advice on what you would be doing when you come close to a junction at gear 5?

i tend to use shift down to gear 4 then gear 3, then engine braking and last 50m or less i shift down all the way to gear 1 (too early?) and dunno what to do! then i just brake and stop...wobble like crazy!!

then instructor will come up from behind and ask me to use less of front brakes.

someone please tell me exactly what happens when approaching junctions, esp from gear 5.....pleaseeeee.....

@freedee what I do is I would off throttle, brake very lightly and start dropping gears. When I'm at gear one, then I would apply more pressure on the brakes.

shadow, by the time you reach gear 1 you are at the junction already right?

there was once i went all the way down to gear 1 and i was still like 10 bikes away from junction...

and one more qn, you drop gear one by one, or you just keep kicking down all at once?

@faizal313 Haven't book yet. Busy week for me coming up.

 

@freedee yup. I rarely go down all the way. I would go down to gear 3 if i was nearing the junction. So won't kanchiong. Let's say nearing the junction drop down to gear 3 from gear 5, then very near already, to gear 1. Im not sure whether you get what im trying to say though.
