The reason I ask is that my bike is now fully paid up and I'm free to choose what type of insurance I take. I wanted to know how many people switched over to third party and whether it was a good idea in Singapore to do so... :)

it's all about how much you would want to be saved..

at the end of the day, should anthing happened to your bike, sure you would want coverage right?.

-3rd party is like an umbrella, just without the canvas over it. just the metal parts.

-3rd party f&t is like an umbrella with canvas over it.

-comprehensive is like having an umbrella together with raincoat.

For every 7 pounds you lose, you gain one horsepower.

tpft for me.. although wallet hurts and insurance price just increased .. but just to be safe..

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

That's a very comprehensive explanation...

I m on TPFT, minimum that my financial (which is my bike shop) allows. That's only fair, I guess... :p

3rd party fire and theft...

Is it correct if downgrade to 3rd party only cannot upgrade back?

shouldnt be? cos upgrading will allow them to have more revenue, why would they want to miss that?

Hmmm... that strange. As I know of is can be upgrade to TPFT. All you need is a inspection cert by any inspection centre presented to the insurance co.

Jus a couple hundreds more, take TPFT to be on the safer side.

You could try Leong Seng in Bukit Merah - they do my AXA insurance for me. Very quick, 15 minutes for a cash transaction.

Guys, curious ah.. Allianz insurance dont accept CB400 anymore is it?

Cos i wanna renew, bike said so then they change to AIG.

My bike still under installment.. cant do my own insurance :(

Quote $665 by bike shop TPFT policy.

I suspect its only $500 cos on cover note theres a writing there which state $500.

Is there any way to save further on insurance? Lets say just wait till insurance die then go change company n buy insurance ourself

Sorry for the noob question, but what's the difference between TPFT and Full Comprehensive ah?

if i'm not wrong:

3rd party fire n theft => any accident, 3rd party can claim ur insurance, u can claim any fire or theft that happened to ur bike. but u as first party cannot claim.

Full comprehensive => includes first party can claim during accident. that is, it includes everything.
