finally manage to fix the backfiring problem...

found out the the ring from the front throttle body has slipped up...

took out the right fairing and tank just now to tighten back the screw...

was thinking of using a broader ring for the throttle body so that it won't slip up....anyone tried before..?

Didn't know any park of throttle can cause backfire. How does that work out? Anyway since you took out fuel tank, I assume U added the air-filter too. How? Any difference? :--)

U mean backfireing is that famous Strom sudden loss in power then jerk forward syndrome that always happen at aaround 3-4k RPM? Thought that was the fuel-pump/rectifier problem. Didnt know throttle can make a difference. U need to teach me man bro!..:--)

yup...

but the backfiring doesn't come from the pipe one..

it will come from the body of the bike....will come from one of the 2 throttle body...

are you talking about the butterfly valves? if you are, i've taken mine out long time ago. The result was a more responsive throttle.

no need to replace it with anything, just unscrew the two butterfly valves (50cents coin shaped disc). you can fix it back if you don't like the after effect. I can show if anyone interested. just need to remove tank, air filter and requires a long phillips or plus nose screwdriver.

peter from vstrom forum taught me this easy mod when I wanted to order a TRE. Feedback from other strommers who did this was it has the same effect as using a TRE. Even the TRE-users agreed.

ibbster >>> removing the butterfly valves doesn't remove the speed restriction rite?

only improve the throttle respond in lower gear issit?

anyway i still encounter the backfiring...i check the ring but it's still intact...

i remember when i took out the tank...there is another hose to the airbox...

the airbox also can vibrate making the hose from the throttle body to loosen..

i think next week i take out and take some photos...

650 bros, wat's yr average fuel consumption and how low did u try to go b4 refueling? the fuel gauge is very inaccurate.. it states in the manual that when there'e one bar left, there shld be another 4litres but b4 it's up, the gauge is blinking already..

my recent tank only manage to get 21km/l..
