my V will mostly be SG road use, and occasional trips

 

so,

wats the reccomendation between anakee and tourance?

 

 

and i thinking of HKL to do tyres, any comments?

 

HKL so far no hear any thing au-thro-cious abt them.

 

as for which 2 tires ... i usually take any one of those 2 available...

Tyres can be quite a personal choice. I like Metzeler tyres generally right from my early days of riding. I'm using Tourance EXP currently. Quite grippy for me.

Most bike shops will bring in the tyres you want. If you want ready stock of dual purpose tyres like anakees, tourance, scorpions, TKC80 etc, you can try Mtechnik as many adventure bike owners frequent there. KnT will also bring in tyres of your choice if they do not have stock.

I am a strong opposer to scorpion.....a couple of my friend was seriously injured while using those....very poor in handling wet or paint or carpark cement its cheap abt $300 for a set and can last for 40-50k

 

I onli recomend use anakee or tourance...even tkc80 the offroad tires had better handling than scorp... but i heard they redo scopr to scop 2 don't know the improvement, neber borther.

 

as what the chief Al-Simmon had mention don't short change yourself do get a good or better tire and essential part to ride longer.

im using Pirelli Scorpion Trial and it has been very good to me.. in fact better than the old Tourance. I would recommend this tyre to those who wants awesome grips.

Havent try with EXP so i cant compared with it. but definitly better than tourance or on par the very least..

bro how scop 2 react to wet cement in carpark paints and metal grills.

 

EXP is more of a road tyre , and "better" milage ?....i brought mine last year n it still have a lot of good thread left never loss control of my rear (fish tailing in the wet) ....maybe it could be the rino gel i put inside.

my car park is a multi story but i do not suffer slippage on the cements. not that i travel a whole lot of distance on cement. in any case all tyre will slipped if too much power is applied to it on a wet cement and metal grills. what i find is more important is throttle control and common sense. :)

 

cant say abt exp as i mentioned before i had never used it before. im only comparing my current scorpion trail to my ex tyre which is the old tourance.

Anyway never had a Tourance..

was from MT90 to Anakee..

Somehow the bike felt lighter with MT90 but corner better with Anakee... thats the main difference i feel...

Good that all discussing tyre now... cause mine getting bald haha...

 

but really wish to have conti trail for my next set...

in the end, i settled for tourance EXP, price quite standard, but i did at Unique

 

anyway,1 last question : tyre pressure, shown on the "factsheet" states front min 32, rear min 36.........

so, can i assume its ok to put 33 and 37?

should be ok in sing

 

but if you are touring and running at higher speed > 150km/h in hot whether > 36 degree on tarmac

 

do try abt 35 n 45 on for 1 up , you will find a big diff in tire temp.

 

I ride 2 up normal over pressure 40 50 n change my tire nipple to metal instead of rubber to avoid nipple blowout
