tut tut: the manual mite say so but dun u find it's like underpowered for the individual gears?

 

guys, im not meetin tonite already.. got sth on.. i try to make it down later if possible..

hmmm..i also drove down to kg glam ard 8.30 after sending my wife to work, didn't see any strom so i go on my way home :p

 

Didn't log in to sbf cos went for my run ride with Peter K. Bike dirted. Just finished washing it

bro ours 650 only mah, so dun expect to hav as much torque low down as the 1000. As long as it is still smooth going n gear box not knocking den no prob liao. Cos the 1000 will hav complains like bike chuddering when riding at lower rpm, tats the price to pay for having more torque :angel: No offence hor 1000 guys, just using it as a comparison.

So nobody went in the end? Cool! I dont feel so guilty anymore. It was raining slightly at my place, riding Strommy just didnt cross my mind then.

nah it aint underpowered. you gotta ride the 650 like a scrambler,the gear shifts gotta be very quick...if u drag even a lil bit on any gear its gonna feel underpowered and gay...i only 'drag' on the 6th gear,70kmh onwards... :thumb:

haha! this is the first time i see gay being used to describe gear change and its range!

i drag on the 5th usually to abt 95kmh b4 up to 6.. if not 6 would feel underpowered and opening more throttle means more fuel!!

but this is gng nowhere cos everybody has their own riding style.. :)

Is this for DL650 or DL1000? If I kick 5th @ 50kmh engine will knock like crazy, if I kick 6th @ 60kmh, engine stall, finger slow clutch in, mamaqye fly.

 

At first I thought its PowerCommander tuning problem,I took back re-tune also like that. Then I did syncronize throttle-body, slightly better but fuel consumption go up because makes rider more throttle happy.

 

See the green light on the DL1000 dashboard that says O/D? The 6. gear on the DL1000 is an overdrive gear. It is meant for cruising more relaxed at high speed, and saving fuel when doing long distance trips. It is not meant for city riding. Using it at speeds less than 100 kph is lugging the engine! The engine will hack on the drivetrain, which is harmful for all transmission parts.

 

The highest regular gear is the 5th gear. That one should be ok for legal speed on expressways. On city roads you will hardly use anything more than the 4th.

 

 

BTW: If nobody want to adjust the Strom with the Teka I will send it to the US.

u want to wait for something to happen to know that it is working??? *touch wood* what if something went wrong there?

 

So i still trust the good old hard-armoured jackets that makes u sweaty during the day.. :p

We all need to move with the times bro.......when people starting to wear shirt and pants, you cannot still be wearing towel right? hahaha... considering you just spent $200+ on clear signal lights, whats $130 on air-bag jacket. Priorities my dear friend.

peter is the teka adjuster any good for the 650?

 

I think the 650 runs well at all rpm. Unless you changed filter or exhaust, I believe there is no reason for application of the Teka.

that's only $50 on clear signals..

like i said....the hard armoured jacket have serve me well...and i feel safer with it..

 

unless they invent one jacket that will make u fly...then i reconsider changing... :cheeky:
