Does the Fi light lit up when u turn the key switch on ?

Or when the engine is running ?

 

If the Fi light lit up when u r switching on the key , then its normal . No worries. Just OFF and On back the key . Try doing it until the fuel pump start priming. Maybe u just need to put some oil in the keyhole .

 

But if the Fi light lighted when the engine is running , then there's some problem . since u just got the bike , its best to get back to ur bike shop .

i had sent it back to the shop to service, it lights up even when i am riding.

is there any recommended bike shops recommended for the DL 1000. thanks

since you have only just gotten the bike out of the shop, it is best if u get them to rectify the problem or if you don't mind paying to fix it, there's always meng tong, now at motoworld.

sorry i am rather new to v strom.

is it normal to have a rattling klak klak sound when gear is engaged.

it felt like the on certain gear 4th or 5th travelling at 120 is too high gear for the bike.

 

maybe i can meet one of the bros here to ve a ride on my 1k and give me your opinion.

Haha.... all those vibrations @ 3-4k rpm are normal for the older Stroms, better get use to it.

 

Clutch housing problem, replace the whole thingy will cost about $700.

 

I've been living with it since the last 20k km.

Dude, me riding same bike as you, yellow also. The FI thing should NOT be on when engine is running, on start-up, its normal, just turn key back and try again.

Strongly suggest dont bother changing it, no point. U'll get used to it, might even find that it adds character to Strom after awhile. For super quiet, no vibrations, NO CHARACTER bike, should have bought a HONDA instead.............:--)

not so much vibration, am just speculating if anything is wrong.

am used to treally torquey bike. from sm, off road to sports.

just that the feel was kinda different so i enquired.

hope to meet you guys to learn more about this ride.

the red indicator "FI" lights up.

Sounds like your oil pressure light.Either you have no oil or the switch on engine faulty ( easy to replace)

Hi.Another Newbie here.Juz wanna know.is there anything wrong if temp goes up to 3bars while riding on roads w a lot of traffic lights.This happens to me only sometimes if i keep stopping and moving off on the road.However once in expressway,temp drops to 2 bars.thx

mine nerver drop below 3 bars after bike fully warmed up, even when cruising on highway it's constant 3 bars. Don't worry about it.
