Was reading through the pages and found to be very interesting. Was wondering does anybody here can enlighten me on reading the Malsing's map on the mapsource? Cos I have the unlock version but can't to read.

u nid to download the installer. after which, install the malsing. once inside your mapsource, on ur top left hand conner u will see a tab. click on it and select the map. After which u can choose to zoom in or zoom out

hence, that's the reason why i suggested r-a-m mount. versatile and secure. can place anywhere you like. don't have to mount it on the handlebar, u can set its position close to the mirror if u like.

I got the confirmation from jerome already. Now is screwed up the whole thing as my Mapsource keep telling me that "Unable to start Unlockwizard Please reinstall this program and try again. " I reinstalled alot of times already but still no avail. Anyone has this problem... I got the Lock version of 3.70 only need the unlocking code from jerome and the Stupid msg to let me unlck once i get the code.

 

The POI Can someone guide me to update too?

Don't use the mapsource to unlock your map. Use another program call Sendmap 20 which can be downloaded from Malsingmaps. I had unlocked 3.70 and downloaded into my GPS and use without any problem...

Thanks for the info, I tried to download and still cannot see what you are talking about. Mine mapsource software version 6.13.7. Was wondering where did you download the installer to?

Guys Since there is quite no of GPS users in here. I would like to organise a GPS outing Session. Meet up and share info as well as map oso. Makan points in malaysia.

 

Those who do not noe abt GPS alot can meet up and get to know more. Have a feel of the GPS model and decide on which to buy after feeling. wouldn't it be benefiting for all us.

 

At the same we make new frens and share things that you might and i might not noe.

 

Sorry to miss this. I think it's a good idea to have a sharing session, exchaning tips and showcase different models. Also showing different types of mounts.

If your are using Jerome's map there will be some limitations. Just give him some time. Reference from his page:

I think I'm screwed too cos I can't get the Mapsource to read the .img files.

 

Mapsource does not read "mg" files directly. Follow these steps "

 

- Save this file "GM-MySin.exe" from this url : http://www.malsingmaps.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=23

 

- This is a "exe' file, just double clicked this file, and it will install the maps in your mapsource.

 

- Try this, and report back the result

Whenever i try to unlock the Jerome Map. It gives me this error. I cannot unlock anything btw. Anyone has this error as me? And btw Jerome sent a .unl file along with the unlock code. What do i do with it? If i copy into the GPS it will overwrite the .unl file but the original file is 50kb but the file sent to me by Jerome is only 18kb. Do i overwrite it?.

 

I cannot use the Search by Addresses function as all the field that i put in will only result in None Found or Some place in Malaysia. No Singapore anywhere at all. I using All POI to search now. Tedious though as need to wait long long time to search through the list.

Thai is not incoporated into Malsings map be it Jerome 3.70. U got up load thai map as another file name.

u can backup ur existing copy of unl file and replace it with jerome unl.

Jerome's map only includes Singapore and Johor. Where as the Thai maps you need to download from his website from another person.

I think the reason you can't search by address is you map's still lock. Try unlocking it.

Depends on how much do you really want to spend. I've tried the Zumo before too much functions which I don't need for biking. The colorado is the replacement for the GPS 76 and GPS60, it's still very new. The 60CSX had been in the market for a while. In US a lot of shops are letting go of the 60CSX due to the release of the colorado. But in Singapore dealers here are still holding on to them like gold. You can get a real good due from the US as the exchange rates are reasonable. So far my sets are from US direct and I've no problem with all my sets.
