Correct me if I am wrong, this handlebar doesn't look like stock, so it was specially bought so that a GPS unit can be mounted.

That's a Africa Twin's handle bar. It's original Honda.

The specs that you have shown, is it for the NUVI 500 or 550?

The battery for the 500 lasts about 4hr 50min at 70-80% brightness

And it does not speak the street name. still learning about the other functions of the unit though.

i'm using sony ericsson bluetooth earpiece n its also connected to my handphone.. so i can switch to my handphone mp3 as and when during the ride. but frankly, the sound won't be that clear when i used it to listen to the mp3 and navigator. a loud windy sound can be heard when ever the navigator prompts. If u wanna use bluetooth earpiece oni for mp3, guess its best to get the one oni meant for listening to music. so tat the wind does not interfere which i believed due to the mouth piece.

I also tried using the normal wired earpiece. a bit better then the bluetooth earpiece tat i'm using.

Which BT are you using?

You mentioned that you were connected to the GPS and Mobile @ the same time?

How did you connect? I always thought that 1 BT headset was only able to connect to 1 device?

How did you "connect"?

Actually, it look quite decent as a bike GPS.

It comes with charging cable as well...

Vehicle power cable

But am worried if it's still "waterproof" while it's charging like the Zumo.

i switched from PDA uses RAM mount aqua box to China made PNA.

found is more reliable, the most imporatant, i can choose from different navigation software, like garmin mobile XT or iGO8.

the unit i hv is a 5" PNA with waterproof function, i use 4gb SD card (according to manufacturer it can support 8gb). i use back my previous RAM mount with some modification.

pics tells thousand words,

just base mount

base mount with PNA mount

PNA on mounting

the only disadvantage is doesnt hv bluetooth connection, but to me hv or not doesnt made any different coz i prefer earplug when i go touring. as for the battery life i didnt really test it out coz i do hv charging system when im on the move. but according to the manufacture it comes with a 1100mah battery that should last about 4hours on navigation.
