Many people spent hordes of money on anti roll bar that increases weight, coil-overs without even knowing whats the meaning thinking it's some handling elixir, lowering the vehicle until the hump scraps the bodykit badly without knowing about the relationship it has with the vehicle geometry.

Haha.. That's I mean when I say those ppl at car forum talk a lot of c0ck.. To them harder the suspension the better, the lower the better, got more strut and braces the better. I dun know much, but I did learn quite a bit from R/C cars a few years back.

The moment one thinks he knows too much to learn more, he will be in deep trouble. I have such a customer who literally said these...

"I am more experienced than you."

"I know it"

"I know more than you"

"There is something wrong with your product"

"Sintered material is paper"

"No? who says?"

"what metallic materials? No Sintered is paper materials"

"Aiya! I don't know who said it's paper"

"clutch pressure plates are totally flat. I know we can machine it flat. Very nicely flat and reuse it again"

"Ah what? Concave? Who say's it's concave?"

"Where did you get this book?"

"Oh no, I didn't do that, somebody else did it. I don't know who."

"There's something wrong with your products."

"I also travel a lot"

"I know it, you are f*cked by the Germans."

"They look at skin colour and didn't tell you something is wrong."

"I know the Germans and how they work."

"I know it, you are f*cked by the South Africans"

"Because the South Africans wanted to carry the German balls"

"I am saying this for your own good"

"You disgrace the face of us Asians"

Imagine someone who insisted on such statements, how much can he contribute? How can we communicate and what does he portray? He will only become irritating and ignorant. So maintain an open mind and learn more. By keeping silent and allow others to speak, consolidating their info for verification and speak only when we are supposed to. That's something I learnt from a thick book called Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. Therefore knowledgable? Even after spending years in the auto industry, I am still far from it.

Ask your friend to take it easy and ensure his machine is track worthy before even thinking of pushing it. No point crashing into the gravel so many times without finding out why. We get up from a fall because we're given a chance to learn.

How's your new bike now? Excited? CNY outing this year?

aiya these type dun need to read one, waste time reading.

you see ah mod car ppl got alot of type:

-Mod for OG

-Mod for exhaust bass

-Mod for PG or Sepang setup

-Mod to show the car is modded, but neither goes track or OG. Machiam mod to cheong CTE/PIE/ECP/KJE/TPE

If handling mod correctly, it should have a stable car to drive within the track itself and of coz not forgetting additional ponies to offset the additional weight.

if the car lowered until like 1 finger but horse barely at 150, then thats confirm for cosmetic purpose liao.

was just wondering MS since you're in the automotive industry, do you do any cylinder boring and honing to OEM specs for your customers?

OEM specs? Thats a lot of work and you need tech specs. cylinder boring is to machine the size of the cylinder head to size. Currently no manufacturer that I know of do that anymore. All cylinder heads are forged out. And the cylinder heads are not done by the vehicle builders. Specialized companies are engaged via contract to fabricate it at a certain MOQ. Cylinder heads are already well forged and thermodynamics studied. Why do you still want to bore it? Honing is still possibly done by workshops who have the workshop manuals and specs.

If you really need a good machinist, you can contact Chuang Aik Engineering at the following address and look for Mr Cai Tzu Nam. 3015 Ubi Road 1 #01-204, Singapore 408704

They helped to machine PTO gears for me in the past and job well done. But regarding on the material, you really have a lot to R&D. And $ wise ain't gonna be easy on you. If I were you, I'd rather buy a ready made engine. Search from Cosworth. They are good on performance engines.

Power generation is not my specialisation. I cannot tell you here. There're experienced people from the industry in this forum who will be able to guess even up till who I am the moment I mention my specialization. And that's an infringement to my company's policy on corp comms. Sorry about that.

Got 4 pistons scuffed at the skirt and badly gouged cylinders. Need to change a new set of pistons therefore need to rebore the cylinders to oversize.

Thanks for the heads up tho.

If I were you, I'd not do that. Unless of course if cost is an issue here. Reboring the cylinders to oversize compromise on the thermal efficiency of the cylinder block. Being too thin can lead to rupture during operation. There is a thermal expansion rate to consider when upsizing. Unless the piston provider specify the size to upbore and takes up the entire responsibility in case of failure provided you follow their instructions, you will be taking a very huge risk. You stand to lose not only your pistons and their rings, you lose the block and consequent components too many to list. But of course if you succeed, bigger displacement & greater power under the concealment of a smaller block. Good luck.

It's 1mm oversize, from 1052cc to 1080cc, not a radical increment to warrant overheating IMHO. It's a pretty standard kit from JE tried and true by many users of my bike model. Will keep your advice in mind and monitor the temperature when running in.

No wonder you asked for the engine damper. You should go check your engine mounting condition first.
