I had also encountered what you experience before. But I would say try not to sabo them since we are really at an disadvantage. We can only siam them at times and ignore them most of the time, so that you will not be affected by their action.

2 days ago when I came back from CCK, along Mandai road, got tailgate by a car. Speed limit was 70 and I was going @ 80. Got no choice but just move to the center lane to let the car pass me and move back to the most right lane.

Reason I was at the most right lane is becoz I am going to make a right turn.

You wana try saboing??? Try going in front of the cars / lorries / trailers and SLAMP YOUR BRAKES HARD!!!

Scare the hell out of the drivers. Well, provded you are still alive to tell the stories...

Over the years, I have learn the best way is to "TRY" to control the temper and get out of the situation. It's easy said than done. Till now, I'm still constantly trying to control my temper when other road users put me in some dangerous situations.

Ride safely and be more forgiving on the road. To be work up and trying to get back the other road users will make put you in danger. Even if you manage to give the other party a piece of your mind, chances are that you will still be angry over it throughout the day. Is it worth it?

On the other side, if you are facing lots of these problems, shouldn't you be reflecting on your riding style? Alot of times, some bikers / drivers don't realise that they are not adjusting their riding / driving base on the traffic condition thus resulted in other parties getting back on them through some silly actions.

Oh yes, for the above method, I've done it a few times in my early days of riding. Very effective method I would say. It was balls bigger than brain. But to me now, it was a stupid thing to do back then.

Hahaha i will DEFINATELY not suggest that. I dun wish to see another fallen rider on the road hit by blurr drivers. Best is go get the Defensive Riding Session provided in SSDC. I dunno abt other skools.

Actually TS you should be happy that you are riding. Cos if you change to driving you will be more fed-up on road. Hahahaha.... Trust me you will get very fed-up.

Well give those drivers a chance la and just siam them lor. Ride more and you will get used to it la. I was like you when i started riding. But after long experience or TARMAC tasting. I can now judge wat the drivers are trying to do next before they do it. So i think its the time on road you spend ba, hope you dun have to taste the TARMAC. Ride with a more experience fren if you have and see the way they ride. Follow them but not to hell rider stage la. Follow those chill and good rider you will be able to learn much and if they can tell you the experience.

Btw, I travel on Mandai road often and the speed for the first lane is on average 90km/h.

From what you said, you're going at 80km/h and if you're on a 2B, that will only be 70km/h and you should rightfully keep to the middle or even left lane.

Try to find out your speed based on GPS rather than on the speedo as it tend to be too optimistic. I have encountered less tailgating if since I ride according to 'real' speed rather than speedo speed reading.

And the saying goes, if he can go faster, just give way and let him past. Mandai road is seldom congested and you should have no problems with this. No need to angry over this.

How does saboing car really solve your problem? :D

Where will all these lead to? :argue:

Have you ever considered the problem may not be them, but you?

But hey, you are not alone out there. What you experienced and suffered are what thousands and thousands of other bikers, and even car drivers, have gone through and are still going through.

There is a reason that they are called PUBLIC roads.

Best is to learn to share usage of the road with hundreds of thousands of other road users. Understand, tolerate, accommodate, accept and co-exist.

Don't want to co-exist? Other choices of transport do exist :goodluck:

When you have built up more experience on the road, you would get a better idea of other road motorists behaviour. Unfortunately, being upset at and being not understanding of other road users will work against you in building up experience. When you get enraged, you loose awareness and sense of safety and increase your own chance of buang-ing. When you get enraged, you build up a barrier against learning to avoid future similar incidents, once again increasing your own chance of buang-ing.

Not something you want to hear, but most effective long-term solution is really to learn to live with each other instead of nuking one another
