1) If u r using 3 points crash bar, be sure the bolt that is holding them using the engine mounting access are of the original correct diameters.

2) Check for the rest of the engine to frame mounting bolts and retighten them.

3) Crash bars when corretly mounted for use should be bolted or be supported by the chassis frame..not the engine mounting bolt.

If you want to solve your problem once and for all, do away with your current 3 points setup and get a new set that make use of the chassis frame mounting..and have all your engine bolts loosen and retighten. Make sure the mounting bolts stalk are of the correct diameters. :sian:

Ah Pek, can Spec III fit in tyres size 120/70 and 160/70? Intending to increase the profile height but maintain the circumference size...

If there is..its okay but I doubt as the width you indicated are mostly all low profile at 60.

i think the header is in line with the 4 spark plugs. the spark plug will just be ontop of that header.

The headers are straight in line while the spark plugs are not aligned directly on top on the headers. The plugs are 2 infront and 2 behind but anyway thank you as I got the ans from ah pek.

Sorry teemortee, my bad.. lost my concentrate. its like one of those days when holding your wife's hand but you mistaken them for your mistress. hahaha. Dunno why I imagined mine like a V twin sia. must be miles away deep in thoughts. My apologies.

Yah...Teemortee is right. If its header two from right, then its the spark plug that is in the second cyclinder head from right. Anyway..you don't change a single plug..u change them as a set of 4. What I wanted to tell you is that..when the one plug get tot hat syage of service..its time to change plugs.

Ok. noted. Thank you

Hi guys, need some help again.

After the mad heavy rain, this morning when I ride, during moving off at gear 1, I found my bike having a 'hitting' sound like 'tok tok tok', as if I am changing gears. But I was just moving off, and it seems like at every gear, this sound will be there when I move off.

But it only last during moving off. When cruising, the sound is not there.

Is it because the chain needs some lubricating? thats my personal guess.

I appreciate all help for a new S4 rider here. Thanks in advance!

hi...anybody knows where can I get stainless steel screws for s4?

I realise that some of the screws on my bike is rusty (one is on my engine). Is it very stupid to change all the screws on my bike to stainless steel screws? Motortiam got this service or not ar? :p

Btw, my fork and suspension also abit rusty. I know there are products in the market that can derust metal parts. But will it make it more prone to rust in future? Is there anything that can derust and prevent rust from appearing again?

Sorry for the many questions :cheeky:

My front brakes cannnot makan leh. Must press harder then can. Changed brake pads, bleeding also done. And I'm using Local brake lever. So i guess it must be the brake lever. Anyone selling their original s4 brake lever? contact me at 9092 6752

I had this problem before, check if it's the main link on the chain hitting the front sprocket cover. If it is, then most probably the screws for the cover are not properly installed.

My bike is stock! Please don't jio me!

DO NOT USE STAINLESS STEEL BOLTS ON YOUR ENGINE CRANK CASE> You need harden bolts.

Hi there, I'm riding a spec 2 and I have this problem of starting the engine in the early morning. It will take me roughly 10 to 15 times of starting before the engine can finally run, after which it will only take 1 time to start the engine for the rest of the day, but the problem happens again the next day morning when the bike is parked overnight.

This problem also occurs when I try to start after topping up full tank of petrol. Spark plugs have been changed recently, along with servicing and tuning of carburetors. The battery seems to be fine and I reckon that there's anything to do with the rectifier. I also did grounding and installed Revtec. Any experienced riders here can enlighten me on this problem? Just wish to know the cause before sending my bike to the mechanics. Thanks.:)

When was your spark plug last replaced? Does your bike has any grounding done? Can be air/fuel issue or plug too wet.

Spark plugs were replaced for 1 month plus, did grounding as well. Does it mean the carburetor is leaking if the plug is too wet? Would tuning the carburetor rectify the air/fuel issue? Thanks.

Okay thanks guys, I'll head down to a shop to check both the rear bearings and the sprocket cover. It does sound like its coming from my belly pan that area. =/

Anyway, I saw earlier about something at the 'famous' bukit batok motorshop? Why is it 'famous'?

No..not that. Try the simple and cheap possibilities first like taking out your air filter to clean. Better still have the air filter taken out and have your bike start the next morning without it. There will be more air gushing in and see if it helps. If it does, probably your airfilter was dirty.

Actually when I bought this bike it came with a K&N air filter so when I did servicing a month ago, I also had the air filter washed because I know that K&N air filters are supposed to last a lifetime.

In that case I don't think it's a problem of a dirty air filter, so are there any other possible causes? Really appreciate you in helping me out Ah Pek, thanks.

Oh, normally how much does it cost to replace? And..must I replace as a set i.e. the front as well?

Thanks again ah.

$12 a side. Not necessary to change front or back lah unless spoiled but I normally change them all at one go..guess its better just in case.

Not sure what servcing is done. Lost of compression can cause this kind of problem too but I suggest you take out the plugs and inspect them. If they are too black..or even moist, than that could be the cause. If this is the case, could be air/fuel mixture or electrical problem.
